"If God’s grace often works through unlikely means and unexpected people, then in situations of difficulty, even when the likeliest remedies are exhausted and the expected champions falter, we can still hope.

It’s precisely when we feel harassed and helpless that God calls us to play our part, not to disengage, but to act, to step up into God’s ongoing mission of healing and renewal, no matter how unlikely it may seem, and no matter how much we ourselves may be 'unlikely suspects'.

God knows that it is good for us. Psychologists tell people who are paralysed and anxious by things like the climate crisis, that any action, doing something, is a way to finding a sense of life again."

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful community who joined us at Ninch Nabs today.

Thank you to the amazing team at The Village Church Mt Eliza for hosting the market and keeping everyone well fed with delicious homemade soup, fresh scones with jam and cream, and those much-loved egg and bacon rolls.

A special thank you to Sally and Rev Cameron, who have supported this vision from day one — creating a space where people can discover handmade goodness at genuinely affordable prices.

And finally, thank you to our incredible makers. Today we welcomed double the number of makers from our first market, filling the space with beautiful jewellery, ceramics, art, textiles, candles, photography, macramé and more.

We’re already looking forward to the next one, so pencil Saturday 12 December into your diary for our Kris Kringle & Stocking Filler Market — the perfect place to find thoughtful handmade gifts and festive treasures.

Thank you for being part of it.

What happens when the issues we face seem insurmountable, beyond our capacity, paralysing? What does faith encourage and say to us in those moments?

Join us Sunday 10am in church and via livestream (we’ve been working on it) as we continue this winter season, and explore Matthew’s take on Jesus’ engagement with and sending out of his disciples to live his compassionate heart in the world.

"Responding to God’s call means constantly being ready to let go of your certainty and comfort and to move on further than where you are now. It requires you to take to the road again and over again. . .

In today’s world the journey of faith is not a single crossroad at which both destiny and destination are sealed but a series of junctions and forks in the road at which choices must be made as the journey and life of Abraham and Sarah will show us."
