Fruits of this weekends Bake & Pray !! All welcome every fortnight.

Bread on the way to Lewisham St Vincent kitchen and the team will take it out tonight and go forth.
In spirit and body we all come together, whether we are His hands, His heart … together with different actions we become one and so Him.

May the grace be with you all. This is the Way

P.s this morning our prayers were offered up to all the men walking in the city.

Today’s reading:

‘The greatest among you must be your servant ‘

Reflection:
’Jesus is teaching the disciples what relationships should be like within their community…..’
‘There was no place for people who sought honour or prestige’

Thank you Year 1 families for coming and celebrating with the parish community. This is your home!!

Today, as we celebrate the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus, we give thanks for the grandparents and older people whose faith, wisdom and love enrich our families, parishes and communities.

The theme chosen by Pope Leo XIV for this year’s celebration is:

“I will never forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15)

May these words remind us that every older person is known and loved by God. Let us pray for our grandparents and elderly, particularly those who are lonely, unwell or grieving, and make time today to call, visit or share a moment with them.

𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑

Holy Father
Who watches over every person
Watch over me too when I am elderly.
You have revealed your name to me in Christ,
And You were not discouraged by my frailties.
You hold me tenderly in your hands,
And You caress my lines.
You will never forget me! (see Is 49:15).

Grant that I may not fear my weakness;
Help me learn to love it
Just as You love it.
Help me learn to listen to it
Just as You listen to it.
Help me embrace it
Just as You have chosen it,
You who, though all-powerful, clothed yourself in humility.

May growing old strip away all our pride
and all division
So that we may live these years
united in You.
You will never forget us! (see Is 49:15)

Amen.

BAKE AND PRAY at St Pat’s Mortlake

This weekends efforts!!!

People came together Friday night to bake and pray and distribute to Vinnies clients today.

Adults and children engaged in reflecting, baking, talking and reflecting. Such Joy!!

His words were alive and truly living in everything that we did in action. We were His hands and lips through our unified beating heart. What true grace & faith.

2 Corinthians 4: 7-15
‘we are only the Earth and we are jars that hold this treasure, to make it clear that such an overwhelming power comes from God and not from us.’

Next session: 6.30pm, Friday 7 August in parish hall. All welcome. Bake, Pray and share.

May you be all blessed abundantly
