A lot of people are feeling overwhelmed by the constant stream of scary news and headlines. It’s just too much for our nervous systems to carry day after day. So people are tuning out.

But what are they turning to instead? For many, especially women, it’s romance stories. Stories where there’s a guaranteed happy ending.

But this comfort can only offer a temporary escape.

What we are really searching for is something deeper and lasting. And that’s exactly what God offers us.

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

We don’t need to escape reality to find a happy ending—because we already belong to a God who is with us in it. He doesn’t just watch from a distance; He stays, He strengthens, and He sings over us with joy even in the hard moments.

That’s the kind of love story that truly holds.
