Be Numbered Among The Undevourable

1 Peter 5:8
8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The devil cannot just walk right up to you and rob you of your health, peace or family. He cannot just come into your life to enforce disease and destruction.

If the devil can do that, then he does not have to walk about “seeking whom he may devour”. He only has to walk straight up to anyone he wants to devour and devour him! But since the Bible says that he goes about seeking whom he may devour, the truth then is that there are people whom he cannot devour.

You see, the devil goes about like a roaring lion trying to stir up fear in people with his roars. But the people who are not devourable are those who refuse to be intimidated by his roars because they know that the true Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ (Revelation 5:5), has already come and rendered powerless him who had the power of death. (Hebrews 2:14, NASB) They know that the devil cannot just do anything to them because the Lion of Judah resides in them, and that He is greater than the devil who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

My friend, the Lion of Judah is in you. He has given you rights, privileges, authority and power. He redeemed you with His blood. Therefore, everything about you and your life is redeemed by His blood. So if you are fearful about losing your job, cover your job with the blood of Jesus. If you are worried about your children’s safety in these days of terrorist attacks, plead the blood of Jesus over them. If you have received a bad report from the doctor, speak the blood over yourself.

Whatever you have covered with the blood of Jesus, God declares, “Protected! Redeemed!” And the devil flees when he sees the blood. And when he flees, he takes with him sicknesses, diseases, pains, sufferings, destruction and loss.

Once the devil knows that you know who you are in Christ and what you have in Him, his days of intimidating you are over, and you are numbered among the undevourable!

What does the Bible say about witchcraft / witches?

The Bible has a lot to say about witchcraft. Witchcraft and its many cousins, such as fortune-telling and necromancy, are Satan’s counterfeits to holy spirituality. The Bible expressly condemns all forms of witchcraft.

Since early times, people have sought supernatural experiences God did not endorse. The nations that surrounded the Promised Land were saturated with such practices, and God had stern words for His people concerning any involvement with them. Deuteronomy 18:9–12 says, “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.”

God takes witchcraft very seriously. The penalty for practicing witchcraft under the Mosaic Law was death (Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 20:27). First Chronicles 10:13 tells us that “Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance.” In the New Testament, “sorcery” is translated from the Greek word pharmakeia, from which we get our word pharmacy (Galatians 5:20; Revelation 18:23). Witchcraft and spiritism often involve the ritualistic use of magic potions and mind-controlling drugs. Using illicit drugs can open ourselves up to the invasion of demonic spirits. Engaging in a practice or taking a substance to achieve an altered state of consciousness is a form of witchcraft.

There are only two sources of spiritual power: God and Satan. Satan has only the power that God allows him to have, but it is considerable (Job 1:12; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:2). To seek spirituality, knowledge, or power apart from God is idolatry, closely related to witchcraft. First Samuel 15:23 says, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” Witchcraft is Satan’s realm, and he excels in counterfeiting what God does. When Moses performed miracles before Pharaoh, the magicians did the same things through demonic power (Exodus 8:7). At the heart of witchcraft is the desire to know the future and control events that are not ours to control. Those abilities belong only to the Lord. This desire has its roots in Satan’s first temptation to Eve: “You can be like God” (Genesis 3:5).

Since the Garden of Eden, Satan’s major focus has been to divert human hearts away from worship of the true God (Genesis 3:1). He entices humans with the suggestions of power, self-realization, and spiritual enlightenment apart from submission to the Lord God. Witchcraft is merely another branch of that enticement. To become involved in witchcraft in any way is to enter Satan’s realm. Seemingly “harmless” modern entanglements with witchcraft can include horoscopes, Ouija boards, Eastern meditation rituals, and some video and role-playing games. Any practice that dabbles in a power source other than the Lord Jesus Christ is witchcraft. Revelation 22:15 includes witches in a list of those who will not inherit eternal life: “Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.”

We don’t need to fear Satan’s power, but we should respect it and stay away from it. First John 4:4 says, “Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world.” Satan can create much havoc, harm, and destruction, even in the lives of believers (1 Thessalonians 2:18; Job 1:12–18; 1 Corinthians 5:5). However, if we belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no power that can ultimately defeat us (Isaiah 54:17). We are overcomers (1 John 5:4) as we “put on the whole armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11). When we give our lives to Christ, we must repent. This repentance should include renouncing any involvement with witchcraft, following the example of the early believers in Acts 19:19.

Isaiah 8:19 says, “When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?” When we follow those words to their logical conclusion, we could also ask, “Why seek any power apart from the source of all real power? Why seek spirits who are not the Holy Spirit?” Witchcraft and its many counterparts promise spirituality but lead only to emptiness and death (Micah 5:12; Galatians 5:19–21). Only Jesus has the words of life (John 6:68).

Understanding Spiritual Authority

It is of the utmost importance that believers understand the spiritual authority they possess. In Ephesians, Paul prayed that the believers would grasp the depth and breadth of their authority because he was concerned they would not maximize their power. Just like Paul prayed for a greater comprehension of the believer’s authority, we ought to pray for more understanding, wisdom, and knowledge of spiritual authority (which is Kingdom authority).

The authority Paul prayed for, that other believers should also pray for, is available to us based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and it is a power that God wants to transfer to believers. However, this power exists in the spiritual realm and in heavenly places (Eph 6:10-12). It does not exist on earth, and that is why prayer is critical in the life of the believer. Believers should ask for power and ask to see life the way God sees it (Ps 119:18). If the person who trusts in Christ’s resurrection power does not pray, then they are only oriented towards earth and will not experience the power that God gives. Jesus is seated in heavenly places (Eph 2:4-6) and that connection to Him is the key to our spiritual kingdom – oriented on Earth.
Submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is critical for experiencing His power; and our submission to Christ is accomplished through the church (Eph 3:10). When people skip God’s spiritual source, the church, or skip the spiritual connection to heavenly places, or skip the Lordship of Jesus Christ, who is the head of the church (Col 1:18; 2:10), then they are not plugged into the system through which God delivers His power.

Disconnection from the lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of Christ from the church dumbs down the flow of power and authority that God has for His people. Every believer who wants to see God’s power fully at work in his or her life should understand the authority they have access too, how God’s authority works, and pray for a greater understanding of God’s power. This is so that they are able to maximize their contribution to the Kingdom while on earth and personally experience the fullness of God’s abundant life!

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:26-27 KJV

Be Specific About Your Future In order to get to where you want to be, you need to describe exactly what you want. For instance, Abraham told Eliezer exactly what kind of wife he wanted for Isaac. He told him to go back to the land of his relatives instead of picking Isaac's wife from among the Canaanite women. You will never reach a vague goal. The more general it is, the less power it has. But the more specific it is, the more power it has in your life. Ask yourself these four questions: 1) What do I want to be? 2) What do I want to do? 3) What do I want to have? 4) Why do I want it? You can't just know the what, you need to know the why - that's your motivation. If you don't know why, you will give up when it gets tough. When Eliezer heard Abraham's goal, he started asking "What if?" If you listen to the what-ifs of your goal, you will fail because of worry and fear. You don't need to focus on the how for now because, once you figure out the why, God will show you how. He will help you solve the problems that stand in the way of your goal.

PARTNERSHIP

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Eccl 4:9‭-‬12 KJV

At the center of every healthy relationship is a presupposition that we will do things together.

Marriage is a journey of togetherness and shared lives. Church is fundamentally all about relationships and community life. Friendships are wonderful because of the things we do and share together. At the core of every healthy relationship is togetherness, teamwork and shared life. In a word, they are a partnership.

But over time, people and relationships change. Initial intentions can get lost in the busyness of the developing relationship and personal agendas can shift. It becomes all too easy to simply forget that this relationship is actually a partnership and to start making independent decisions.

When this happens, it is like a small w**d taking root in the fertile soil of the relationship. Once that w**d called independence starts to grow, there will be trouble ahead! That’s because independence is an attitude that fundamentally works against the relationship. It takes unilateral decisions without considering their impact on the relationship and thus, slowly chokes it.

It is better, however, to never let independence take root in the first place. You do this by having a personal commitment to partnership; an attitude that works like a nutritional feed in your relationship soil. It simply means having a commitment to the bigger reason you entered the relationship in the first place, other than your personal desires.

The fact is, two people can be married, live under the same roof, share finances and a common surname but not be true partners if independence takes root. As time passes their independent choices slowly pull them apart until, one day, the bond is severed – a tragedy that could have been avoided by keeping their commitment to partnership alive.

In a healthy partnership, it is not all about “me” and it is not all about “you”. It’s not my money it is our money. These are not my children they are our children. It is our house, our car, our holiday, our church ... you get my point!

Your commitment to partnership means you will always consider the other person, because the shared goal is greater than the personal one. That’s why you are in this relationship.

So, if the w**d of independence begins to spring up, pull it out fast. But more importantly, keep it at bay by feeding your relationships with a regular dose of affirming your commitment to partnership.

Some might say, "Seeing is believing". Nope, "Believing is seeing". My spiritual eyes were opened the day I believed in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now, that is REAL HOPE.

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

How To Become A Born Again Christian

The only thing that matters in this life is where you're going to end up when it’s over. And God has made it so easy to end up in the better place by Faith in his Son Jesus Christ. I hope today you will take a moment, find a private place and talk with God. It’s easy to pass from death to life here’s how:

Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, this is what the bible says in simple everyday language. Faith in Christ means your going to Trust in God’s word, what it says about him, what it says he did for you.
Go to God with a heart and prayer like the one below. Understand this one crucial point that if you pray this prayer and you mean it, it is a Contract you can never get out of not sure why anyone would but this is not dedicating your life, this is Total Surrender and if you're not ready to be that serious then it will do you very little. It would be like your stranded on a desert island wanting to be saved and a boat pulls up but you don’t want to get on... You just want to know the boat is nearby so that you can be saved. Understand you're not saved until you get on the boat and start the journey.

Dear Heavenly Father, On this day I place my faith in Your Son Jesus as my Savior. I may not be sure of what this all entails but I know I want to be saved and have the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I want Eternal Life that is offered in Your Son. I know and understand fully that there is no turning back and I make this choice here and now. I know from this day forward you are My Father and I have put myself under your care. I know that there may be times where I will be disciplined and I accept this as I know it’s to teach me and help me grow. Jesus, you are now my savior for all eternity, Thank you for taking on the death that I deserved and giving me your life to live. From this day forward let every good thing I do be You working in and through me to help others and that I might be a light on a mountain and a lamp on a stand so that all can see your power and glory forever and ever. Amen!

If you prayed this prayer, this is the every lasting contract you just signed up for. Get ready for boot camp. Your life is going to change. Let our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit lead you into all Truth. Do not just believe anyone, listen to what they say and take it back and hold it up against the Word of God. Always keep an open mind and examine all things to make sure they are True and in the Context of Bible Scripture.
God bless you, your family and all that you do in life!
