This Homelessness Week, we’re reminded that homelessness is not just about having nowhere to sleep.
It can mean living in a car, couch surfing, staying in unsafe housing, or not knowing where you’ll be next week.
Across Australia, many people are facing impossible choices because safe and affordable housing is out of reach.
At The Salvation Army, we believe everyone deserves dignity, respect and a safe place to call home.
This Homelessness Week, we’re standing with people experiencing homelessness and calling for action now.

Here are just two specific examples of the mission and ministry that The Salvation Army supports, one at home and one abroad. Both are facing their own crises.

This is what The Salvation Army does with the funds you donate throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the 2026 Red Shield Appeal (Home) and the 2026 Self Denial Appeal (Abroad). Your generosity enables us to bring hope, support, and practical assistance to people in need both here in Australia and around the world.
