Today we live in a world that searches for Justice, but where is Justice without mercy?
My devotional readings for today from 2 Chronicles 6:12-8:18, Titus 1:1-16 and Psalm 94:1-23 are about "Searching for Justice".
The questions is:
"Do you favour Justice or mercy?" Is it a trick question?
Both responses are technically incorrect:
God’s ways (Yahweh) require mercy and justice. Mercy cannot be fully known without perfect justice, and justice without mercy is harsh and graceless.
I urge you to read the readings above and think about them separately and then combined.
Thought:
How can you/we harmonize your/our views of justice and mercy with all that is going on?
How can you/we act more justly in this world today?
