We give thanks for a great service today for Holy Trinity. A wonderful day of Baptisms, Confirmations, Receptions into the Anglican Communion, Renewals of Confirmation Vows, and a special blessing for a regular parishioner. Thanks to the great team for lunch and community time. Thank you to Bishop Hans Christiansen for a lovely service. Blessings to all families and friends and supporters.

Today is Trinity Sunday, when the Church gives thanks for the mystery of the one God as three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

As we worship the Holy Trinity, we remember that the mission of the Church flows from the life of the triune God.

In the Gospel, the risen Christ sends his disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture reading: Matthew 28:18–20

‘And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”’

Prayer

Holy Trinity,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
draw us more deeply into your life of love.
Shape us as people of communion,
sent to witness to your grace among all nations.
Guide your Church in faith, hope and love,
and help us to trust the promise of Christ,
who is with us always.

Amen.

Pentecost Blessing 2026.
God stir up within you
the gift of the Spirit
that you may confess
Jesus Christ as Lord
and proclaim the joy of the
everlasting gospel
wherever you may be;
and the blessing of God almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among you and remain with you always. Amen.

This is good advice and we would do really well to contemplate it seriously. 😁

Too few churches are addressing ethical concerns about the food system, says a survey from Green Christian, which urges every church to develop an ethical food policy 🥪

Indigenous Pastor Raymond Minniecon from the Diocese of Sydney in the Anglican Church of Australia reflects on the recent shifts in global geo-political priorities and what they could mean for Indigenous peoples and First Nations lands, asking if the new order will mean true renewal and justice or simply reproduce the inequalities of the past.

‘A future global system that ignores the custodianship of Indigenous peoples over lands, waters, oceans and ecosystems will fail not only morally but ecologically. Indigenous knowledge systems remain among the most effective frameworks for protecting biodiversity, sustaining ecosystems and maintaining balance between human societies and the living earth.

‘The coming geopolitical shift must therefore move beyond State-centric power politics toward a plural order where Indigenous nations are recognised as legitimate actors in global governance, particularly in climate, biodiversity and land stewardship.’

Well worth reading.

I stand with my brother in Christ, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, in his courageous call for a kingdom of peace.

As I prepare to visit Rome later this month to meet and pray with Pope Leo, I am mindful of his call to keep our eyes open to the suffering of the world, and our gaze fixed on our crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ – the image of the invisible God, in whose image and likeness every human being is made. In him, we recognise that we are children of the one Father and members of a single human family. Prayer is not an escape from the world, nor a turning away from injustice; rather, it is a turning towards God in the midst of it, confronting evil, seeking God’s will, and becoming instruments of transformation and peace.

In darkness a fire is kindled. The Pascal Candle is lit. We process into the dark Church and it is filled with the light of Christ!
Christ is risen! Alleluia!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

The close of our Good Friday services. The light is extinguished. We try to feel the sense and despair of the Disciples. We enter into our own time of reflection. We seek God in the silence and ponder the confusion of this disparate world.
