For many years before that, and since our inauguration we have been actively promoting Dharma activities in and for the local community by:
- hosting Lama Choedak Rinpoche, Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe (Drogmi Retreat Centre) and other visiting teachers, to give public talks, teaching and conduct workshops.
- The 8 week Calm Abiding Meditation course has been facilitated regularly since 2004
- Buddhist

scripture classes at the local primary schools have been offered since 2005
- weekly meditation sessions
- bi-annually, since 2003, hosting the Sacred Footsteps from the Roof of the World (Tibetan monks from Sera Je Monastery India, spending a week making sand mandala)
The Centre is situated in the picturesque historic village of Milton, just north of Ulladulla on the south coast of N.S.W. There is plenty of great accommodation and camping available - not to mention great beaches and tranquil bush walks.

πŸ™ Vesak Celebrated at NSW Parliament House πŸͺ·

On 26 May, MBC Committee members were honoured to represent Manjushri Buddhist Centre at the Vesak celebration in NSW Parliament House. It was a special gathering of Parlimentarians, Buddhist leaders, monastics etc, recognising the Buddha’s life and teachings in a spirit of unity and respect.

We thank the Buddhist Connection - Buddhist Council of NSW for coordinating the invitations and helping to ensure that the breadth of the Buddhist community was well represented. May this continued recognition help sow the seeds for greater understanding and harmony in our wider community.

Happy Saga Dawa to all beings. πŸ’–

πŸŒ• Under the light of the full moon last night, our Sangha gathered to celebrate Saga Dawa Duchen. Together, we performed a 16 Arhat Puja and dedicated the merit to world peace, the relief of suffering for all sentient beings, and the long life of our revered masters. πŸ’–πŸ’«πŸ””
The evening concluded with a joyful shared meal of pizza and fellowship. πŸ•
May the merit generated bring benefit, harmony, and happiness to all beings. πŸ™βœ¨

🩡 His Holiness Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, Lama Choedak, and the ordained Sangha spent some blessed time at Narrawallee beach whilst HH was visiting Manjushri Buddhist Centre Milton . Pointing us back to the teachings β€œCalming the waves and reclaiming the wind.”
As shared by His Holiness, every action can be a meditation: whether surfing, swimming, driving, eating, or simply sitting or standing. A joyful reminder of presence, connection, and the power and beauty of balance in our daily lives.

πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Thursday evening Calm Abiding Meditation teachings and the image of β€œCalming the waves and meeting the stillness of mind” fits meditation beautifully. 🌊
The waves don’t necessarily disappear forever, thoughts, emotions and distractions still arise but the relationship to them changes. You stop being thrown by every ripple.
A Thursday evening rhythm can become powerful in its own right. Returning weekly to the same practice, same time and same intention gradually trains the mind to settle more quickly. What first feels like effort slowly becomes familiarity.

During Saga Dawa Duchen, may every turn of the prayer wheels, every step in circumambulation, and every prayer uplift all beings. Our healthy clapping succulent reaching new heights beside the prayer wheels feels like a beautiful reminder of growth, resilience, and awakening. May all beings likewise reach new heights in wisdom, compassion, and joy. πŸ™β˜ΈοΈβ˜ΈοΈβ˜ΈοΈπŸŒΏ
