WANTED: Assistant Manager at Camp Willochra.

We are looking for a married couple (or individual) who can assist us in the running of camp. We are looking for someone who has a past with catering (qualified or unqualified), and/or someone who is trained in Outdoor recreation. However, the everyday tasks include:
• Cleaning of camp
• Basic maintenance
• Bookings/Group liaison
• Grounds keeping
• Activities for camps
• Catering for camps

We are a Christian campsite; we exist for the spreading of the gospel through camping ministry. If you are someone who has a passion for reaching kids with the good news of Jesus, this could be the role for you.
We are keen to consider applications with:
• Mature and consistent Christian faith with active involvement in a Christian church, with sound biblical teaching (as evidence of commitment to Christian ministry and service);
• A full agreement with our ‘Statement of Belief’;
• Proven administration and organisational skills
• A commitment to and belief in the value of camping for providing a positive environment for evangelism
• Experience in working with school-aged children, including helping lead camps, church kids and/or youth ministries, games, sports or outdoor activities;
• Friendly, approachable and polite demeanour, and a desire to work closely with staff or on their own.
• Strong Bible knowledge and a clear understanding of the Bible's application to the day-to-day lives of the campers
• Ability to work independently, and within a team
• A current driver’s license.
• A valid and up to date Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).

Camp Willochra near Port Augusta, SA provided a safe and comfortable place for Aboriginal people cut off from Community by COVID-19 restrictions.

Another great read! It can be real easy to focus so much on mentoring and building a great relationship with the youth in our church or community (which are all important things) but we forget that they each have their own unique relationship with Christ and thus we need to teach them how to seek truths for themselves within the trustworthy confines of God's word.

"Teens need this experience of discovery in the Bible. Middle and high school are often a time of searching, of discovery, and of wonder. We don’t just want to be told something; we want to find it for ourselves. So, teach us to search the Scriptures, and give us the tools to do it."

If we teach teens to read the Bible today, we prepare them for what God will call them to do tomorrow.
