Scots' Church Melbourne

Scots' Church Melbourne The Scots' Church Melbourne - proclaiming Jesus Christ to Melbourne City The Scots’ Church, Melbourne is full of history and full of life.

The church was founded in 1838 by Scottish Presbyterian minister Rev. James Forbes, but these days we're a community of people from all over the world who follow Jesus together. Our building was opened in 1874, and has been a centre of active worship ever since. Our music is fantastic, and our Bible Teaching is relevant, engaging and faithful to the text. You're always welcome to visit.

On Sunday 15 March at our 11am Traditional Service, we are privileged to present J.S. Bach’s Cantata No. 4: “Christ lay in death’s dark prison.”

Performed by the Scots’ Church Choir and the Melbourne Baroque Orchestra, this powerful cantata journeys from the darkness of the tomb to the triumph of resurrection, proclaiming Christ’s victory over death.

It promises to be a delight! Come and join us on Sunday 15 March.

Launched in 2023, ScotsCity is a fresh and growing church community in the heart of the city.

Our service style is “contemporary classic” – we stay connected with our liturgical traditions, but we’re relational, informal, and musically current.

So if you're new to Melbourne, starting uni, or launching into a fresh career, we'd love to welcome you! Join us Sundays from 5pm for coffee, community, and bible teaching that connects.

This Sunday at Scots'
"Mothers of Promises, Mothers of Problems."

Our news feeds are dominated this week by strife and division – much of which, incredibly, finds its origin in these chapters of Genesis, as the line of Abraham divides between Ishmael and Isaac. It’s a seismic division that splits the world even today. Rather than taking sides in our current disputes, Jesus Christ offers another way – the path of faith, and a new Spirit.

Join us in person at our 11am or 5pm services this Sunday, or watch the 11am livestream online:
