On 24 May 2026, the Seventh Sunday of Pascha - the Sunday of the Holy Fathers, when the memory of Saints Kiril and Metodij is commemorated, Matins and the Holy Divine Liturgy were served at the Church of Saint Prophet Ilija in Footscray.

During the Liturgy, the faithful gave thanks to God and received the Holy Mysteries of Christ.

Following the Liturgy, Sunday School was held for the children.

На 24 мај 2026 година, во Седмата недела по Пасха (Недела на Светите Отци), кога се празнува споменот на светите Кирил и Методиј, во црквата Свети Пророк Илија во Футскрај, се богослужеше утрена богослужба и Света Божествена Литургија.

На Литургијата, верниот народ се заблагодари на Бога и се причести со Светите Христови Тајни.

По Светата Божествена Литургија, се одржа Неделното училиште за децата.

On 17 May 2026, the Sixth Sunday of Pascha - the Sunday of the Blind Man, when the memory of Saint Martyr Pelagia of Tarsus and the Venerable Nicephorus is commemorated, Matins and the Holy Divine Liturgy were served at the Church of Saint Prophet Ilija in Footscray.

На 17 мај 2026 година, во Шестата недела по Пасха (Недела на Слепиот), кога се празнува споменот на света маченичка Пелагија Тарсиска и преподобен Никофор, во црквата Свети Пророк Илија во Футскрај, се богослужеше утрена богослужба и Света Божествена Литургија.

На Литургијата, верниот народ се заблагодари на Бога и се причести со Светите Христови Тајни.

Spiritual Studies for Adults (English and Macedonian)

Spiritual Studies explores topics on Scripture, Tradition, and Liturgical life of the Orthodox Church.

Sessions are held fortnightly on Thursdays at 7:00PM, and are conducted in both English and Macedonian.

Sunday School provides a friendly and nurturing environment where children grow to appreciate the beauty of the Macedonian Orthodox Christian faith and life in Christ.

Students learn Church hymns, take part in fun hands-on activities and games, and explore lessons across many areas of the Orthodox faith while also discovering elements of Macedonian culture and language.

Who is it for?
Children aged 5-12

When is it?
Every Sunday after the Holy Divine Liturgy, where students actively participate in the Holy Divine Liturgy by receiving Holy Communion and chanting the Lord's Prayer.

Where is it held?
In the small Church of Saint Panteleimon and Sedmochislenici.

Sunday School is delivered by Sunday School teacher Deacon Michael, assisted by Sunday School teachers and helpers, Martina and Tiana.

Неделното училиште им дава на децата можност да научат за нашата прекрасна православна вера.

Опфатени теми се: Библијата, Светиите, празниците, Светата Литургија, молитвата, како и многу други теми што се важни за Македонската Православна Црква.

Децата учествуваат во различни забавни активности додека учат и комуницираат со пријателите.

Учениците активно учествуваат во Светата Божествена Литургија со примање на Светите Христови Тајни и пеење на „Отче наш.“

Неделното училиште е предводено од вероучителот ѓакон Мајкол и вероучителите Мартина и Тиана.

Часовите се одржуваат секоја недела после литургијата за децата до дваенаесет години.

With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Nikola of Australia and New Zealand, the Macedonian Orthodox Church St. Prophet Ilija is pleased to announce its offical Catechism Course for catechumens and inquirers of the Orthodox Faith.

The Course is the first ever structured catechism program of the Macedonian Orthodox Church in Australia and New Zealand, and is designed to introduce the theology, worship, and spiritual life of the Orthodox Church.

The course is in English and classes will be run weekly, on Saturday Evenings, from 5:00PM to 6:00PM over 12 weeks - commencing Saturday, 9 May, and ending Saturday, 25 July.

It is open to catechumens, inquirers - those who wish to become Orthodox Christians, as well as those who have been baptised into the faith and wish to know more about Orthodoxy.

For more information, please speak with Very Reverend Fr. Ljupco at St. Prophet Ilija beforehand, or attend the first class.

There is no obligation or cost.
