Sunday, 24 May 2026 — 16 Pashons 1742 A.M.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II held a meeting today, Sunday, with a new group of representatives from several theological colleges from the dioceses of the diaspora. The meeting took place at the headquarters of St Mark’s Coptic Academy at the Logos Centre, in the Monastery of St Bishoy, Wadi El Natrun.

This meeting—the sixth in the series—is part of a sequence of meetings being held with theological colleges and educational institutes. During the meeting, St Mark’s Coptic Academy was introduced, and the views and proposals of those present were heard concerning the development of the educational process and the raising of academic quality standards in the theological colleges and ecclesiastical institutes recognised by the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Delegations participated from St Athanasius and St Cyril Theological School in Los Angeles (ACTS), Pope Shenouda III Theological Seminary in New Jersey, St Athanasius College in Melbourne (SAC), and Holy Sophia University.

The meeting was attended by Their Graces: Anba Serapion, Metropolitan of Los Angeles; Anba David, Bishop of New York and New England; Anba Kyrillos, General Bishop in the Diocese of Los Angeles; Anba Gabriel, General Bishop and Papal Vicar for New Jersey; and Anba Rewis, General Bishop for South-East Asia and the Diocese of Melbourne.

With thanks to our gracious Lord, the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne was blessed to receive His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, together with a delegation of Clergy from his District, at the Diocese Headquarters in Donvale, Victoria, on Thursday 30 April 2026.

Their Graces then shared in a warm and fraternal meeting, during which they discussed the ministries, services and pastoral works of their respective Dioceses and Districts, reflecting on the shared calling of the Church to serve the faithful with love, humility and unity in Christ.

Through God’s grace, His Grace Bishop Rewis prayed the Feast of the Resurrection Divine Liturgy at St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Preston, Victoria, on the evening of Saturday 11 April 2026.

As expressed in the Resurrection Message of His Grace Bishop Rewis, this blessed feast marking the Resurrection of our Lord is a reminder to all that “The Glorious Resurrection of Christ and its illuminating light give us hope that no matter how long darkness remains, the light will eventually shine.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency Mr Ahmad Raafat - Consul of the Consulate of Egypt in Melbourne, for his gracious presence during the Liturgy and for his warm well wishes to our Diocese, also conveying the message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

May this holy Feast of the Resurrection bring abundant blessings, peace and renewed spiritual joy to our Diocese and all its faithful.
