Laneway Church We’re a group of Christians who love Jesus, love the Bible, and want to help each other and our community know and love Jesus more.

We're moving into our new home! 🎉

Like any new home, we're still unpacking boxes and adding the finishing touches. So if things look a little unfinished over the next few weeks, that's because they are!

But church isn't about a building, it's about people gathering around Jesus.

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus | Philippians 1:6

What began with a handful of people and a big vision has always been about one thing: making Jesus known. We're so grateful for where God has led us, and we're excited for what’s ahead.

As we prepare to move into our new Gospel Hub, we're taking a moment to look back on Laneway Church's early days and remember God's faithfulness every step of the journey!

“I can comfortably say now that I am a Christian, which is very exciting! … I’m trying to look at everything with a bit of grace, knowing that I’m still learning and growing on my journey.” - Jess

We were so encouraged by Jess on Sunday, as she shared her journey of getting to know and trust Jesus. Jess stepped into church last year, not knowing what to expect, but feeling a pull to explore Christianity. Now, she's continuing that journey of learning how to live with Jesus in her life.

The Melbourne mission team is preparing to engage in walk-up evangelism—approaching people in the street with the aim of beginning conversations about Jesus—as they get ready to partner with Laneway Church in Footscray later in March.

In last week’s Chaplaincy Group, Andrew Leslie, who is leading the team with Joan Young, emphasised the importance of flexibility when doing walk-up evangelism. Conversations can sometimes grow into hour-long discussions—moments that are both a joy, as people begin to see more clearly who Jesus is, and also demanding for those involved. Learning to steward the day well, including building in times of rest and refreshment, is important as the mission week unfolds.

Please pray that the team would have meaningful opportunities to connect with people and clearly share the saving grace of our Lord Jesus with the people of Footscray and the surrounding community.
