After our January break Ringwood SACB are coming back for a new year of music in worship. Our first rehearsal for this year will be Tuesday, February 3rd, at 8:30pm, and we would like to welcome any brass players who would like to come and share in it with us. If you would like to join us, please either comment that you’re coming, or send us a Facebook message, letting us know how many, and what instruments you’re bringing.

At the last Carolling engagement of the year, one of the younger members of the corps led the ensemble in a bright rendition of Jingle Bells. A bandmaster in the making! Note the page turn in the second verse.

BM Noel Jones OF (Rtd) with this morning’s band message soloist, Clem Law, who blessed us with Noel Jones’s solo “My Christ Is All In All”. Clem is part of our Genesis Brass program, aimed at those who have graduated from Just Brass and are in high school. Members of Genesis Brass were assisting the senior band with worship today, with the MSB’s trip west for the Perth leg of this year’s Bands In The Round program.

It was great to have David Philpot at Ringwood this morning and to join us in the band.
Here is a photo of five of us from Ringwood along with David this morning.
Also, a photo of us in the early 1990s at music camp.
We haven’t changed a bit!!

It’s with deep sorrow that we share news of the passing of Major Peter Wright, who was Promoted to Glory earlier yesterday

Peter faithfully served The Salvation Army for many years with compassion, wisdom, and a deep love for God and others.

We give thanks for his life and ministry, and we hold Geneen and his family in our prayers during this time of loss.

Details regarding the celebration of his life will be shared once they are confirmed.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23

(This picture is from Peter’s time as the Flying Padre 1992-1998)
