Doubts about Islam: should you go looking for them? 🤔

No. The default is that doubts aren't spread, studied for curiosity or given attention. We stay away from them. But when they do arise, responding becomes a farḍ kifāyah: some qualified people must answer them on the Ummah's behalf.

Studying the sciences but skipping your daily wird? 📖

Whether you are studying any science, don't let "I'm too busy studying" take away your daily portion of the Qur'an. That time with the Book of Allah is your qūt, your nourishment as a student of knowledge. It's the source. Everything else flows from it.

Of all the words Allah could have revealed first, He chose: Iqraʾ. Read. 📖

The very first connection between the heavens and the earth was a call to read, to learn and to understand. Pause and reflect on what that says about the place of knowledge in this dīn.

Not all Islamic sciences play the same role. 🗺️

Some are tools (ʿulūm al-āla): you learn them to unlock other sciences, like Arabic and uṣūl.
Others are the goal (ʿulūm al-ghāya): the sciences you're ultimately seeking, like tafsīr, ḥadīth and fiqh.

Know which is which, and your path becomes clear.

Where does real motivation to seek knowledge come from? 🤍

Himmah, that high resolve to keep going, is a fruit. It grows when you stay aware of why you're learning:
- It's worship.
- It gives you insight to see things clearly.
- It's provision for your journey.
- It helps you benefit the Ummah.

Keep these in front of you, and the motivation follows.

- Introduction to Muṣṭalaḥ al-Ḥadīth with Sh Anwar Alahwazi

How do scholars decide which reports are accepted and which are rejected? Mapping the science that guards the Sunnah, through its ten foundations.

There's still time to come! We're on all day today, with Fiqh & Uṣūl al-Fiqh still to come, in shā’ Allāh.
