Today, we dived into why God deserves our worship and praise in the first place. We see all the ways that God is good to us, and how much He loves us, takes care of us, and provides for us in amazing ways. And because of all of this, our Heart of the Matter today is “God deserves our worship!” - a truth that we will discover is true every day of our lives. Today, we were introduced to the concept of worship. With help from today’s Heart of the Matter “I Worship God,” we discovered that we worship God to humble ourselves and praise Him for how good He is. Today was Family Week for our preschool kids

Family Week is a time where families attend New Life Kids with their child. We thank you for those that were there today and celebrate our kids that accepted or recommitted Jesus into their life today!

A recent study by OneHope showed that 71% of parents are hopeful or confident about their parenting but only 1 in 3 parents believe they have a tremendous amount of influence in their child's life and, more than 1 in 4 parents never talk to their child about their faith

"Parents build the future with the way they raise their kids. Spiritual formation begins in the family and the home is the critical shaping ground for faith" (OneHope). I know how easy it is to be completely overwhelmed in how to raise our families in Christ today. I pray that after today, we can partner with families in leading children to Jesus to become disciples of Him who love and serve God.

Today was Family Week for our primary school kids (Preschool, hope you guys had a great holiday program!)

Family Week is a time where families attend New Life Kids with their child. We thank you for those that were there today and celebrate our kids that accepted or recommitted Jesus into their life today!

Today we were reminded that in the tough stuff, we can choose to worship God. We may not feel like singing, but we can even worship God by praying to him and telling him how we feel or asking him our questions. Maybe there’s something you like to do that can become a way you worship God like through painting or playing a sport or singing or talking about God with your friends. You might be going through some tough stuff right now, and you just don’t feel like worshipping God. But this Bible story reminds us that you can still choose to worship even when it’s hard. Even just one “thank you” or one prayer can be a way to worship.

Last week we learnt that no matter what, we can talk to God. He wants us to come to him anytime, but especially when tough stuff happens. But what if God doesn’t make the problem go away or answer your prayer the way you want or when you want? Well, you can remember that even though the world is broken and things don’t always seem good, God is good and his plans are good. You can choose to believe that God’s got it and one day, in his time, we will see the good too. And it’s important to remember the safe people God gives you in your life who can help when stuff is tough, too.

Last week, when you’re going through tough stuff, you can make the right choice. It doesn’t matter what other people do. What matters is your choice and what you believe about God. He loves you and he has good things planned for you. Remember that sometimes the people around us will make the wrong choice. We might even want to make the wrong choice, too. But we can remember that God wants us to make the right choice because he loves us and wants what’s best for us.

Last week, we learnt that when stuff is tough, you can keep doing good things for God. Remember it can even be just one good thing. Whatever you do, whether it’s giving a smile to someone, saying thank you to God about something good in your life, or praying to God to tell him how you are feeling! These can all be good things you do when stuff is tough. When you do these things, you can remember that God cares about you, and he has good plans for you.
