What is Pithru Paksha and Mahalaya Paksha?
Pithru Paksha, culminating in Mahalaya Amavasai, is a sacred period from 18th September to 2nd October 2024. It is a time dedicated to performing Shrardh rituals and prayers for our ancestors, honoring their memory, and helping their souls find peace.

2. Why do we perform these rituals?
These rituals express our gratitude and help elevate our ancestors' souls. When they are at peace, they are freed from the karmic cycle of rebirth and move toward higher spiritual realms. Performing these rites also helps clear "Pitru Dosha," a karmic imbalance that may affect our lives.

What is Mahalaya (Pithru) Paksha?

Sacred period during which we can express gratitude and seeking the blessings of our loved ones who passed.

The importance of Mahalya Paksha:

Any rites performed during this period are equal to those performed in the holy Gaya. Offerings made during this period are said to directly reach the spirit of your loved ones. Ancestors who lost lives by unnatural causes, accidents can also receive these offerings.

What should you do during this Mahalaya Paksha?

- Perform Tharpanam (contact for further details)
- Pray and think about your loved ones.
- It can be your deceased relatives, friends, or anyone important to you.
- Perform charitable activities to those in need i.e. provide clothes, necessities as you are able. Offer food to those in need.
