ST FRANCIS DAY

12.00 NOON
SUNDAY 2 October

You may notice something odd at St. John’s in Burke Road Camberwell this Sunday as we celebrate St Francis Day.

A procession of animals – dogs and cats,
guinea pigs, rabbits and reptiles –
will come to church for a special
'Blessing of the Pets' at noon.

The custom honours St. Francis of Assisi
and his love for all creatures
and celebrates the loving bond
we share with our pets.

‘Nine Lessons and Carols’

This Sunday 19 December at 6.00pm

Come to hear again the message of the angels and, in heart and mind, go to Bethlehem and discover the peace of the Christ Child – Emmanuel – God with us!

Christmas is always a special time at St. John’s in Camberwell.

One of the great highlights each year is the beautiful and humbling Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, first held in King's College Chapel in 1918, as a way of celebrating the end of the First World War.

The service will feature the stunning St. John’s Parish Choir and Choral Scholars, featuring some of the best voices in Melbourne, ensuring it will be a magical night!

Free parking on the south side of the church.
Refreshments following the Service.

The acclaimed Choir of Trinity College at Melbourne University will sing Advent Carols on Sunday 28 November at 5.00pm.
