Your whole life matters to God

“For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Sunday, we started on a new series - Heart discipleship

We were reminded that God desires to be involved in every area of our lives. There is no part of our hearts that He is uninterested in.
One of the greatest traps we can fall into is a “Christianity in a box” mindset—separating our Sunday faith from the rest of the week. Yet God’s desire is for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, bringing wholeness and integration to every aspect of life.

We were encouraged to see our lives as part of God’s bigger story of redemption and reconciliation. Jesus is making all things new, and this transformation is often a process rather than an instant change.

As followers of Christ, we are called to see all of life as holy and spiritual, not just our Sunday worship, but our daily routines as well.
In the ordinary moments of daily life, we can ask: Where is God at work? What is He reconciling in me right now?
By stepping back and paying attention to the Holy Spirit, we can discern what God is saying and shaping in our lives as He continues His work of renewal.

Learning to Lament
Turning Honest Grief to Holy Prayer
Psalm 13

Pastor Matthew shared with us what is lament about from the book of Psalms.

Lament is the God-given language of bringing our troubles, griefs, and sorrows before Him. It is talking to God, not merely talking about God. Throughout Scripture, lament can take many forms—groaning as described in Romans 8, silence when words fail, weeping in sorrow, or even crying out in anguish. Whatever form it takes, true lament is always directed toward God, trusting that He hears and receives our honest hearts.

Lament has an important and necessary place in the life of faith. When we neglect lament, our praise can become shallow and disconnected from the realities of life. Biblical faith does not deny pain or rush past suffering; instead, it brings every emotion and circumstance into God's presence. Lament allows us to be honest about our brokenness while remaining anchored in His faithfulness.

A helpful picture of lament is a wagon wheel. At the centre, the hub, is our trust in God. From that hub extend many spokes pointing in different directions—towards praise, joy, thanksgiving, instruction, repentance, or sometimes simply a bare and fragile trust when nothing else remains. The wheel keeps turning as God continues His work in us. He moves us according to His rhythm and timing, even when promises seem delayed and life feels marked by disappointment or brokenness.

In a culture of hurry and constant activity, we can feel pressured to move on too quickly from our pain. Yet God does not rush the process of healing and transformation. He invites us to resist the spirit of haste that can infect our spirituality and instead walk honestly with Him through every season. We need not be uncomfortable with grief that lingers, for God often does His deepest work in the waiting. Through lament, He teaches us to trust Him, not only in moments of victory, but also in the journey of faith.

How time is converted - A reading from Spiritual Transformation by Henri Nouwen

“The spiritual life, therefore, is not a life that offers a few good moments between the many bad ones, but an abundant life that transforms all moments of time into windows through which the invisible becomes visible.”
Henri Nouwen “Spiritual Transformation”

Today we intentionally slowed down and reflected on the meaning of kairos — not simply chronological time (chronos), but God’s appointed time: a sacred moment, an opportune season, where He invites us to pause, notice His presence, and respond to His leading.

Rather than separating sacred moments from normal life, we were encouraged to let all moments become “windows” through which God’s love, grace and presence become visible. The transformed life is therefore not a perfect life without struggles, but a life increasingly rooted in being God’s beloved.

❤️Sunday Service Sermon Recap❤️

True God vs false god
The lies we believe and the truth that frees

In Exodus 32, the Israelites struggled with uncertainty while Moses was on Mt Sinai and turned to a golden calf for comfort and security. Their actions revealed what had taken the throne of their hearts. In our own lives, idols can quietly take the place of God — work, dreams, possessions, approval, or the lies we hold onto. What our hearts are most attached to often reveals our deepest fears and insecurities.

In Mark 10:18–29, Jesus responded to the rich young ruler with love, even when the man walked away grieving because he could not let go of his possessions. Sadness, discomfort, and uncertainty may come as He exposes the idols in our hearts, but those emotions are part of the journey of surrender and healing.

Even so, Jesus reminds us that what is impossible with man is possible with God, and that there is joy and hope in letting go to follow Him.

What is your heart preoccupied with today?
What is Jesus inviting you to let go of so you can follow Him more freely?

When we choose to follow Jesus and surrender our idols, He promises something greater — His presence, His joy, and the fullness of life found in Him.

Healthy Heart Series #9
Joy- the Overflow of Salvation

This week’s message centred on James 1:2–4, reminding us to “count it all joy” when we face trials, not because trials are easy, but because God is at work through them.

Joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness depends on circumstances, but joy comes from within, a quiet confidence and deep assurance that God is good, even when life is not. It doesn’t deny the pain we feel or ask us to pretend everything is fine.
Instead, joy is about perspective. It’s the lens through which we see our situations. We can experience real pain and still choose joy by trusting what God is doing behind the scenes.

Trials are not meaningless; they are purposeful. Just like gold refined in fire, our faith is tested and purified through challenges. These seasons reveal what we truly believe about God and strengthen our spiritual roots. As we endure, steadfastness grows in us resilience that anchors us through life’s storms. Joy sustains us in this refining process.

And there is a destination to this journey. When we allow steadfastness to complete its work, it produces maturity, making us whole, complete, and lacking nothing.

Even when answers are delayed, we are called to trust, obey, and hold firmly to Him, knowing with confidence that He is leading us toward something good.

Healthy Heart Series #8 Forgiveness

This Sunday, we have the privilege of hearing Ps Ian sharing on the topic of forgiveness.

We stand today in the extraordinary grace of God, that forgave every sin, every debt, fully paid through Jesus. What we could never repay, He has already settled in full.

Yet Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:14–15 that while God’s grace has no limit, His heart is also righteous. He calls us to reflect that same mercy toward others. Forgiveness is not just something we receive, it is something we live out. To forgive as God forgives is to carry His heart into every relationship, even toward those who have wronged us.

Unforgiveness doesn’t stay contained. It quietly shapes our relationships, our perspective, and the life we are living. But even in difficult situations, God is at work, growing us, maturing us, preparing us for something eternal. What feels like tension now can become transformation when surrendered to Him.

Forgiving others, however, doesn’t always mean instant restoration. Trust often takes time to rebuild. But in that process, God forms something deeper within us—steadfastness.“Consider it pure joy… whenever you face trials… because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2–4

Steadfastness is choosing to remain grounded in God’s truth, even when emotions are unsettled. It’s allowing Him to reshape our hearts, renewing the way we think and live (Ephesians 4:17–24).

At the heart of it all is God’s desire to restore. In Matthew 18:12–35, we see the lengths He goes to bring people back. Restoration matters to Him. But justice is not ours to carry. We can release it into His hands.

Let us walk in His light, extend His grace, and trust His heart both in forgiving and in restoring.

❤️ What’s on during our Sunday Service ❤️

This Sunday, we intentionally slowed down and leaned into the peace of God.
Reflecting on John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
‭‭
We were reminded that His peace is not like the world’s, but steady, anchoring, and deeply personal.

We also reflected on taking on Jesus’ yoke, learning to walk at His pace, not driven by pressure or performance, but guided by His gentleness. His yoke is easy and His burden is light; when we walk with Him, we exchange striving for surrender and anxiety for trust.

In a creative moment together, we did something different: everyone wrote a haiku inspired by this Scripture and two paintings - Paul Gauguin's The Yellow Christ and Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers.

Just as the sunflowers turn toward the light, we reflected on hearts turned toward Christ and finding peace even in life’s intensity.

A gentle, beautiful reminder to slow down, breathe, and receive His peace.
