NAIDOC Week 2026 – Community Engagement and Holy Quran Exhibition

NAIDOC Week – 50 Years Celebration events, strengthening relationships with Aboriginal communities and promoting the peaceful teachings of Islam.

We attended celebration at Willum Warrain, where more than 300 community members gathered to celebrate Aboriginal culture and heritage. We had the privilege of meeting Uncle Peter, his team, and several respected Elders. As part of the event, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community organised a Holy Quran Exhibition and book stall, where many children, Elders, and families viewed and read the Holy Quran for the first time. On 6 July 2026, three members attended the NAIDOC Week celebration at Nairm Marr Djambana Inc. in Frankston. The event was attended by more than 150 community members, including respected Aboriginal Elders. Our delegation had the privilege of meeting Aunty Deb, her team, and other Elders. The program commenced with a Traditional Smoking Ceremony, followed by inspiring addresses from the Elders and concluded with a community meal, providing valuable opportunities for community engagement and relationship building. Throughout the event, our volunteers engaged in meaningful one-to-one conversations about Islam, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, and our efforts to promote peace, mutual understanding, and social harmony.

Our participation was warmly welcomed by organisers and attendees, providing an excellent opportunity for tabligh, community engagement, and strengthening ties with the Aboriginal community.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community attended a water safety awareness and swimming program at Cardinia Life, Pakenham, aimed at addressing the rising number of drowning incidents and promoting swimming education within the community.

The event commenced with an Acknowledgement of Country, followed by a welcome to the Honourable Assistant Minister, Matt Thistlethwaite. An introduction was provided outlining the project, participants, and attendees. Assistant Minister Matt Thistlethwaite delivered a brief address, highlighting the importance of community engagement, participation, and programs that promote inclusion, health, safety, and wellbeing.

Following the opening session, participants entered the swimming pool to commence the first session of the swimming program.

The event was attended by members of Doveton Mosque, the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), federal representatives, community stakeholders, and members of the Hindu, Sikh, and Buddhist communities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the program’s positive outcomes while fostering stronger connections between participants, community organisations, and government representatives, helping to raise awareness of water safety and reduce preventable drowning incidents within the community.

World Environment Day Celebration 2026

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community proudly participated in the World Environment Day Celebration 2026, themed “Sustainable Choices for Reducing Cost of Living,” held at Officer Gurdwara, Officer, on Saturday, 6 June 2026

The event brought together community members, leaders, faith groups, and environmental advocates to promote sustainable living practices and strengthen community engagement.

National Sorry Day at Willum Warrain

Today, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community had the honour of attending the National Sorry Day event as part of Reconciliation Week at Willum Warrain.

We were privileged to meet Uncle Peter, his team, and other respected Elders of the Aboriginal community. The event was attended by more than 250 community members.

The day commenced with a traditional smoking ceremony, followed by powerful and heartfelt speeches from the Elders, reflecting on culture, history, resilience, and the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

The program concluded with a warm community BBQ, bringing everyone together in a spirit of unity, mutual respect, and friendship.

We proudly displayed our community banner, and our presence was warmly welcomed. Many attendees appreciated our gesture of solidarity and respect as we stood together to celebrate culture, resilience, and community spirit. It was a truly enriching and memorable experience.

We also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Paul Mercurio, State Member for Hastings, who recognised and appreciated our community’s engagement. Councillor Paul Pingiaro, Acting Mayor, also expressed his support and appreciation for our presence at the event.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Participates in ANZAC Day Service in Berwick, Pakenham and Bunjil Place !

Berwick, Victoria – April 25, 2026 — The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community proudly participated in the ANZAC Day service and parade held along High Street, Berwick, demonstrating solidarity with Australia and honoring the sacrifices of servicemen and women.

With over 2,000 attendees present, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were warmly welcomed and widely recognised by fellow participants and spectators. Their presence highlighted a shared commitment to unity, respect, and remembrance on one of Australia’s most significant national occasions.

In addition to joining the parade, community members volunteered for two hours in support of RSL Berwick, Victoria, assisting with event activities and contributing to the smooth coordination of the day’s proceedings. This effort reflects the Community’s ongoing dedication to خدمة خلق (service to humanity) and civic engagement.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Julian Hill MP Mayor, Cr Stefan Koomen JP - City of Casey Gary Maas MP Brad Battin MP Mary-Anne Thomas MP, along with other dignitaries, who expressed their appreciation for the Community’s active participation and contributions to Australian society.
