A young boy once asked his grandmother,
"Why do you go to church every Sunday? You've heard those Bible stories hundreds of times."
She smiled, walked him to the window, and pointed to the lighthouse across the bay.
"Do you see that lighthouse?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Does it only shine when there's a storm?"
"No," he replied.
"It shines every single night—even when the sea is calm—because no one knows who will need its light."
She looked at him and said,
"Church is like that lighthouse. We don't only come when life is falling apart. We come because God's Word keeps us on the right path, strengthens our faith, and reminds us we're never alone. And sometimes, we're the light someone else needs."
This Sunday, perhaps you don't need church because everything is going wrong.
Perhaps you need church because God wants to prepare you before the storm comes—or use you to encourage someone sitting beside you.
You never know whose life your smile, your prayer, or your presence could change.
We'd love to welcome you this Sunday at Wattle City Church.
