We are very excited to host special guest preacher Janson Condren this Sunday 9th Aug at both our 10am and 5pm services.
Janson will be preaching from 1 Samuel, continuing our series about Israel searching for a King. Janson is currently head of Old Testament teaching at Sydney Missionary & Bible College, so is very qualified to bring a great message to us from this challenging Old Testament book.
See you there!

Wanting to fit in with the world will always push us to compromise our allegiance to God.
In 1 Samuel 8, Israel demanded a human king for one main reason: "We want to be like all the other nations" (v. 20).

They looked around at the world, panicked, and decided that conforming to the culture offered more security than trusting God's unique leadership over their lives. When Samuel took their demand personally, God reminded him that the heart of the issue wasn't leadership—it was trust. Israel wasn't just asking for a new system; they were rejecting God's sovereignty to feel normal.

It’s easy to look at 1 Samuel 8 and wonder how they missed it, but we do the exact same thing today:
We trade God’s standards for popular opinion just to avoid standing out.
We place our ultimate security in human systems, leaders, or status instead of the Lord.
We let the desire to "be like everyone else" dictate our decisions, relationships, and values.

When you feel the pressure to conform, remember that God hasn't called you to look like every other nation. True security isn't found in matching the crowd—it's found in surrendering to the King who already holds your future.

Thanks to everyone who came along to Kids Club Sunday this morning – hearing a wonderful talk from Vivian Lee, singing songs and dancing together, and seeing what the kids were up to last Monday.

Hannah’s prayer in 1 Samuel 2 is such a powerful reminder of who God is. It wasn't just a "thank you" note for an answered prayer; it was a declaration of God’s sovereignty, holiness, and justice. When she was in her deepest pain, she cried out to Him. When He answered, she gave Him the glory.

If you're in a season of waiting, or a season of celebrating, remember that He is the rock. There is no one holy like the Lord. 🤍

The Great Commission isn’t a call to sit comfortably in our faith; it is a directive to move.
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus sends His followers out into the world to share His message, teach His ways, and love people exactly where they are—whether that is across the globe or right across the street in our local neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces.
This immense mission is paired with an amazing promise: we do not go alone. The Creator of the universe walks beside us through every step, every conversation, and every challenge, until the very end of the age.
We are called to actively look for opportunities to share the love of Jesus with those around us. Step out in faith this week, confident that He is already there ahead of you.

We had a lovely time on Sunday celebrating South Asian Christian Day!
We prayed in thankfulness of the spreading on the gospel to India in the First Century AD and for continued protection for our present day brothers and sisters who are not able to practice their faith freely due to persecution.
We were blessed in song by the Sydney Gujarati Fellowship at 10am at Sydney Telugu Christian Fellowship at 5pm and our bible reading read in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English.
We also shared a great meal together - praise God!

Life has a lot of seasons, but God is the constant in all of them.

☀️ In a hard season? Don't carry the weight alone—take it to the Lord in prayer.
🎉 In a joyful season? Don't forget where the good things come from—turn that thankfulness into praise!

Whatever kind of day you are having today, God wants to hear from you.
