I just want to share a testimony from our band practice today—something that reminded me that we never truly know what God is doing through our worship and through SEEN Ministry. There was a woman sitting at the bus stop outside the church who had experienced domestic violence and was clearly hurting. She heard what she described as “amazing singing and music coming from the church,” so she decided to walk into the hall, sit down and simply listen. When we eventually finished practice and came into the hall, we noticed her sitting there crying. She opened up about what she had been through, and we were able to pray over her. I’m also incredibly grateful to one of the team members and his family for opening their home and taking her in for the night so she would not have to face the night alone. This was so we can organise the support she needs to keep her safe and in touch with organisations that can help her through this time.
But then she told us something that stopped us in our tracks. Before she heard our music, she had been sitting at that bus stop looking at the tree inside the church property, contemplating taking her own life. Yes to take her life. She told us that hearing the singing and music from the church changed her mind. We thought we were simply coming to band practice. We thought we were just rehearsing songs. But God was already using our worship to reach someone who was at the edge of giving up. Today reminded me that we cannot underestimate what God can do through our worship, through our churches, and through SEEN Ministry. Sometimes ministry isn't about standing on a stage—it’s about creating a space where someone who is hurting feels safe enough to walk through the doors. Today, our band didn't just practise music. We witnessed worship become a lifeline, and SEEN became a place where someone could be seen, heard, prayed over and reminded that their story is not over. This is why we worship. This is why we serve. This is why we keep showing up. Because we never know whose life God may touch through our YES. All glory belongs to God. 🙏🏽❤️
