DAY 3 Saturday 28th March
Congratulations! You’ve reached the final day of the 3 days of Prayer and Fasting.
DAY 3 DEVOTIONAL: WAIT ON THE LORD
Isaiah 40: 30-31
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Waiting on the Lord is a major key to life in the Spirit. Proverbs 15:8b says “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But the prayer of the upright is His delight.”
God delights in our prayer. Why? Because He is all about relationship and He wants relationship with you and me.
When we spend time in His presence we are being transformed from one level of glory to another even when we don’t realise it. 2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us that as we behold Him we “are being transformed into the same image (His image) from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” When we wait on Him (spend time with Him) we cannot help but to be transformed inwardly.
We live in a fast 21st century culture where everyone is busy and people are bombarded every day by all sorts of distractions such as social media, TV, internet, telephone, etc. Waiting on the Lord is an ancient practice which supersedes our 21st century culture. (Genesis 24:63; Psalm 27:14; Psalm 37:7)
Our main scripture above (Isaiah 40: 30-31) says “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
What does waiting on the Lord mean. It means to be with Him in prayer and wait for Him to answer. Waiting on the Lord involves sacrifice. We must sacrifice our time to spend it with Him. Time is a commodity of which we all have equal amounts of 24 hours per day. How we spend it is what makes the difference between one person and another.
If we spend a decent portion of that time, waiting on the Lord, we shall:
• Renew our strength
• Rise up with wings like eagles – that means to rise up in the spiritual realm
• Run and not be weary
• Walk and not faint
LET’S IMPELEMENT CHANGES AND MAKE WAITING ON THE LORD PART OF OUR EVERY DAY LIFESTYLE.

DAY 2 DEVOTIONAL: A SPIRITUAL SPRING CLEAN
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Prayer combined with fasting is such a powerful combination! I know of no better way of decluttering and cleansing our lives on the inside.
Yesterday we spoke of a TV show called “Space Invaders” where people hoard “stuff” in their homes and can’t bear to get rid of anything. It becomes very difficult for the families to function when surrounded by piles of clutter and unnecessary things. Then a kind television team come in and help them prioritise what’s important and identify what they should give away. After decluttering they renovate the home. The change in their lives is amazing.
The hoarding and clutter happened gradually as they acquired items they liked but down the track, when they were not needed, they could not bear to part with them. Clothing was purchased which was perfect for a previous season, but that season is now gone, and the clothing needs to go to Vinnies.
The same principles apply to our spiritual lives. Our inner lives can become cluttered gradually over a period of time. Internal clutter comes by decisions we make, by what we practice, what we allow our eyes to see and what we allow our ears to hear. When our lives become cluttered on the inside, the clutter hinders the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It’s not easy to move freely through a house filled with “stuff”.
IT'S TIME FOR A SPRING CLEAN
The Holy Spirit is the one who searches the hearts (Romans 8:27). We don’t need to be overly introspective. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17) He brings freedom. So, let’s ask Him to help us do a spring clean on the inside. If you ask Him, He will bring to your attention things to deal with. It could be unforgiveness, sin or simply a reprioritising of the issues in our lives. He may tell you to let go of previous seasons which are now finished, because He has moved on.
Isaiah 43:18-19 "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?”
IT’S TIME FOR A SPRING CLEAN OF OUR HEARTS
IT’S TIME FOR THE NEW THING THAT GOD WANTS TO DO IN YOUR LIFE

SUGGESTED PRAYER POINTS:
Deep cleansing in people's lives
Decluttering in people's lives

We are moving into 3 days of Prayer & Fasting, starting Thursday 28th March. This is an exciting thing to seek the Lord as Maroochydore and Redcliffe churches combine together in prayer.
DAY 1 DEVOTIONAL: BE STILL AND KNOW
Psalm 46:10 says Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
In the 21st century life style, stillness is hard to come by. Our eyes and ears are bombarded by images, sounds, concepts and shocks from the world around us. When I was a young teenager, bushwalking was something I enjoyed. I also enjoyed the sunset after surfing. What appealed to me was the quietness and awe of God's creation, and no other voices disrupting the peace.
When we are still we become uncluttered and its easy to tune into the Holy Spirit of God. He is always communicating but are we listening? When we are quiet and still it's easy to hear Him speak in our hearts.
Have you ever watched that TV show called "Space Invaders" where a crew go into a home and help people who are hoarders to declutter their homes. See the photo attached. There is so much clutter that the house does not function and people become depressed and frustrated.
Our spiritual lives can be cluttered also as we take in a whole lot of irrelevant or even harmful stuff through our eyes and ears.
Prayer and fasting, when combined, is like a spring clean of our life on the inside. Let's ask and expect the holy Spirit to declutter us.

Our scripture verse above says "Be still, and know that I am God." This is a very powerful scripture and it has at least 2 major meanings:
1) It is a command from God to fisrtly "Be still" and "know He is God"; that is to focus our minds and hearts on Him. As stray thoughts arise we will have to continually bring our focus back to Him. Don't give up.
2) This is very simple but powerful - When we are still, Heavenly knowledge comes to us easily by the Holy Spirit.
A great author wrote of "the Trichord of Revelation" being
1) REST
2) REFLECTION and
3) REVELATION
When we 1) rest, then 2) reflect (think deeply), then 3) revelation comes easily from God.

SUGGESTED PRAYER POINTS:
- Ask God to help you spring clean on the inside and declutter your spiritual life.
- Pray for the 2 churches Maroochydore and Redcliffe - That God would lead us further into His divine purpose for both churches (Psalm 43:3)
- Pray for the Maroochydore and Redcliffe areas for awakening and revival to come to all churches
