We have multiple spaces available for hire at the three churches within our parish! If you know someone who needs some space, whether it’s for an hour, half or full day or multiple days, please get in touch.

Today I’d like to share some information with you about the Annex in Maleny.
The Annex is available for hire for yoga/exercise, reading, crafting or music groups.
The internal space is about 6 x 8.5 metres, plenty of windows for natural light and air flow, and an air con unit for those muggy days. Plenty of off street parking and storage available. Also has a safe, fenced off outdoor area for kids to play in if needed.
The Annex is at the Anglican Church at Maleny but is in a completely seperate building from the church.
Please PM me, Kim, for more information or if you would like to make a time to visit the Annex yourself.
*Please note that furniture in photos is to be removed, but hopefully they give some sense of the size of the space

The doors of St Mary’s Montville are open daily to offer a quiet space to just sit and be.
As part of the Rangebow Festival, we continue to welcome all to come and take a breather in the midst of noise and busyness.

Prayer for the people of Nepal and Tibet (from our diocesan liturgical committee)

Gracious and loving God, our lives are in your hands. When we are overwhelmed with grief and shock, confronted by mortality and the fragility of life, for others and for ourselves, remind us of your presence with us. We pray for the people of Nepal and Tibet, for all whose lives were suddenly taken; for those who remain lost in the turmoil; for their families and friends, nearby and across the world; for first responders and aid workers reaching out in care; for generosity and compassion from world leaders and all who have capacity to respond; and for those who will commit to the long term rebuilding of lives.

Challenge our complacency about climate change and the devastation brought about by human activity across the world. Comfort the people of Nepal and Tibet, bring them peace, and disturb our complacency, so that we will be agents of transformation and signs of your compassion, your love and care. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

On Sunday we celebrated St Mary’s Patronal Festival in Montville. A wonderful morning recognising 112 years of opening doors and welcoming all, prayer and worship, humble service and offering a quiet space in the bustle of our lively village.
Thanks to all who made the morning so special and to wonderful Rev Kaye Pitman for cutting that delicious cake!

Wonderful afternoon of music with Kim Kirkman and friends. Kim is amazingly talented, switching between instruments and genres seamlessly. The audience joined in with singing for one number and were also invited to play instruments with Kim for two medieval folk songs.
Thanks to those from the parish who helped to organise and cater for this event.
If you missed this concert, our Christmas concert is booked in for the 12th of December, 11am at St George’s Maleny. Love to to see you then.

Can’t wait to see those who can make it on Sunday afternoon!

Kim Kirkman brings fun to St George’s concert

St George’s-in-the-Hills will welcome music man Kim Kirkman for the next concert in its annual series at St George’s Anglican Church, 2 Walkers Drive Maleny at 2pm on Sunday July 19.

Concert committee chair Susan Myring said audiences could expect a lighter, more playful program. “Kim Kirkman was once the co-owner, music director and member of the Ten Tenors celebrated group who recently were honoured with the Keys of the City of Brisbane, so we are lucky he can ‘let his hair down’, so to speak, and create a fun production for our July concert,” she said.

Kirkman said the “Kim Kirkman and Friends in Concert” program would include solo performances, harp, violin, singing, humour and novelty numbers. “I have invited some of my talented friends to help me produce a concert that will be filled with some surprises, and unusual novelty numbers,” he said. Tickets are $25 and include afternoon tea after the concert.

Bookings can be made at humanitix.com/kim-kirkman-and-friends-in-concert, with tickets also available at the door.
