In 2011, Jay-ellen and Jai moved to Mackay, following God's lead, to plant a vibrant and growing, Bible-teaching community. During that time, they've seen God work: bringing people to know Him, gathering followers of Jesus and then growing the group together in Jesus Christ. They're so thankful for each person who has supported God's work, prayed, and especially those who joined MAKE Church for this journey, or part thereof. We're so thankful for each seed of God's Word that has been sown into the hearts of men and women and for each expression of God's love we have witnessed.

As we've pursued a living relationship with Jesus Christ and to keep growing together in Him, all the while teaching the Bible to the best of our ability in God's strength, the Lord has worked much change. Change in us and in our church family. Having begun as a fellowship that sat neatly within 'Reformed Evangelicalism', Jai's personal journey and then subsequently our church family journey, has grown from these roots in Jesus and the glorious gospel of His death and resurrection, to a point where we do not so neatly fit within a simple religious categorisation. You could say we are just humble followers of the risen Lord Jesus who died for us, and we rejoice in the presence and empowering of God's Holy Spirit. Circumstances and God's leading, has us at a point, where we have now left the denomination we loved and were a part of, last September.

Further, we have moved to formally close down Mackay Evangelical Church (MAKE Church), and we are now continuing to gather weekly at 9:30am Sundays at Fitzgerald State School Hall, Norris Road, North Mackay, as Good Soil Fellowship, under the broader organisational banner of Jesus Light House Limited (JLHL). God has Jai leading both Good Soil Fellowship, and the broader JLHL, which also has space for the things God is doing beyond our church family, like the Light Party, Joshua Camp and other events and ministries God is leading us to.

Good Soil Fellowship is a Bible believing church family in Mackay Queensland. We love Jesus our Lord, we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, as we call on our Heavenly Father. We will be having a break from regular services for two Sundays. This is a chance to rest and give thanks to God for the year that has been. We look forward to kicking off again, Sunday 12th January 2025. 9:30am Sundays, Fitzgerald State School, Norris Road, North Mackay.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your part in MAKE church family. We're so thankful to God, who continues to show deeper riches of His goodness and mercy in His Son Jesus Christ, by the power of His Holy Spirit, through His Word.

Christmas Day is another great opportunity to turn our eyes upon wonderful Jesus. Why not take 45 minutes out of your day to reflect on the reason for the season? We would like to invite you to our Christmas Day Service,

We're thankful to God for the rain, but it is a bit wet for an outdoor event! So we've made the call to move it to FITZGERALD STATE SCHOOL HALL, Norris Road, North Mackay. Please spread the word with anyone you invited.

We will continue with our plan for a a simple Christmas Carols event at 6 pm on Saturday 21st December. But again, note the venue change to Fitzgerald State School Hall. We'll sing along with all your favourite Jesus-centred carols. Bring your own bean bags / picnic blankets / rugs for inside the hall and please bring any food and drink needed for you and your family. There are chairs in the hall for those who need them. Also, there will still be small activity packs for sale for the children ($5) and some other small Christmas gifts. See you all there :)

We're thankful for our MAKE Church coffee team who served at North High May Fair and then at Fitzgerald State School's Sports Days last Thursday and Friday. $792 was raised for the Fitzgerald School P&C over the two days. At both events, North High Hospitality students were given the opportunity to complete their work experience requirements by helping out on the coffee machine. Great work to all involved! We are part of a wonderful community, praise to God.
