Challenges

€ Look back over the themes you have been working on during your Big Year and consider your faithfulness in practising the Way of Jesus.
€ Discuss with your Big Year crew some of the new habits you have developed since starting A Big Year. Consider what has helped you to faithfully continue living this way and pray for each other.
€ Pay particular attention to your family this month - they are often the ones we cut corners with. If you promise them something - make sure you follow through.
€ Write on your mirror the names of all the people God has put in your life so that you can show them His love and faithfulness. Reflect on your faithfulness to them and ask God to show you what you need to do to love them each day.
€ Identify one promise you have made to another person in the past three months but have not yet fulfilled. Do it this month. Then, identify one promise you have made to God in the past couple of years but have not yet fulfilled. Do it (or at least start
heading in the right direction) this month.

€ Have a conversation with someone who you think lives faithfully. See if you can find out how they stay 'full of faith' and write down one thing that they do which you could also do to help you live more faithfully.
€ Make a list of all the roles you each play in life (e.g. son, brother, student, boss, team member etc.) Next to each of these roles, write down one or two responsibilities that you have and make sure you fulfil these through the week.
€ When someone invites you to an event this month, you must give a Yes or No answer. Do not give a 'Maybe' and then wait and see if a better offer comes up. If you say you're going to go, then stay true to your word and turn up!

K.G.@ L.A's Tales of encouragement
(Keep Growing, and Loving Always)

Last time I wrote. We talked about EXPIRY DATES, and how much they
effect the things we use every day, e.g. Our bankcards, Our licences, and even
the foods we eat, all have expiry dates. We also looked at God's Word, that
says that man’s expiry date is 70 tears
PS.90:10 “Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty.
But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they
disappear, and we fly away.” (This was penned by Moses, as he lead the
Israelites. as they wondered around the desert for forty years, until that
UNBELIEVING generation died out. Their disobedience shut them out of the
promised land Their wanderings, and death was part of God's ANGER on
them )
Did you know that 'disobedience' is still our biggest PROBLEM today?
BUT the difference is that now, we are living under the NEW COVENANT,
where an angry God chose to POUR OUT His anger unto Jesus, instead of us(
Now, unlike the disobedient Israelites, who PAID A BIG PRICE for their
failures, our loving Saviour paid the price FOR US)
ROM. 3:24 “ Yet God, in His grace, FREELY makes us right in His sight.
He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty
for our sins”.
The Bible tells me that 'I” do have an EXPIRY DATE, and it was
over forty years ago, when God took up residence in my life, and gave
me His life
Gal.2:20 “I HAVE BEEN crucified with Christ and I NO LONGER
live, but Christ lives IN ME. The life I now live in the body, I live by
faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself FOR ME.” (This
verse was the first memory verse that Tim Stewart, my Spiritual father, had me
learn 'of by heart', when I first gave my heart to the LORD, and here I am,
over forty years later, quoting it to you, WELL DONE, Tim).
I would like to tell you that my OLD LIFE, (Which is a life
CONTROLLED by me, and MY desires, not Gods will) , was DEAD and
buried, BUT that would NOT be true. It is constantly fighting for control, forty
odd years later, and at times it WINS)
How blessed we are to live under the New Covenant, and have GOD'S
GRACE, that does set us free, by giving us NEW LIFE, which is actually His
life , NOT a 'cleaned up' version of our lives.

Our God is a HOLY God, who commands, and DEMANDS perfection,
(He is so holy that He can't even be in the presence of sin).
That begs the question that ALL of us have asked, “What chance do we
ever have of being in His presence, when we all know that we have done wrong
things, and at times, we have really 'stuffed up'. (NONE of us would be able to
come within the same world as God, let alone into His personal presence),
Paul writes these ENCOURAGING words,
Col, 1:27b “ And this is the secret: Christ lives IN YOU. This gives
you assurance of sharing his glory. “(This TRUTH, that Christ lives in us,
who have surrendered our hearts to Him, gives us HOPE, and
assurance).
Christ DOESN'T simply come in to take on the PASSIVE role of just
making us ;'look, and feel' good, rather He comes in to take
CONTROL in our lives, and guide our decision making, and to CHANGE
us into His image.
This is where the Spirit of God, (The Holy Spirit), who lives IN US
will lead us to surrender TO HIM, and His control.
(Theologians call this ONGOING process of CHANGE, that God works into
our lives, SANCTIFICATION),
Let's THANK God for His control, in changing us,
Bless you, and I will see you soon
