Elder and Sister Wakolo, our new Area President, will be visiting the Canberra Stake! As such, we will be holding a devotional for all members on Sunday 09 August, 6pm at Lyneham Chapel.

This will be a great event and a wonderful opportunity to feel the Holy Ghost and be inspired together.

Please do all that you can to come and join us, with your family and friends, to meet with Elder and Sister Wakolo!

We ask that members bring a simple, savoury dish to share, so that we can enjoy some food and time together after the devotional.

The devotional will be broadcast to outlying areas also :)

2026 Census!

Every five years a census is held in Australia, and the next one will be held on 11 August 2026. As part of completing the Australian Census, each person will have an opportunity to state their religion. Consistent with prophetic direction, we encourage members to use the full name of the Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

There are two ways to complete the census:

- Online form: Using the online form, there is enough space to use the full name of the Church in the “Other” category. We recommend using this method.

- Paper form: For members using the paper form, there is insufficient space to record the full name of the church. We suggest recording in the “Other” category, The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS.

The Pacific Area Presidency encourages all members to participate in the census. The census has important implications for the fair distribution of political power and government funding. Accurate census data also helps the Church more effectively plan its activities around the world. Your cooperation in the census will help provide an accurate representation of the Church in Australia.

The Goulburn Branch is now open!

Members of the Goulburn Group, stake officers and the Sydney Mission Leaders met today for the implementation of the Goulburn Branch.

Elder Mark Simonsen was called as Branch President, with Dean McCormack as 1st Counsellor, and Nathan Lui as 2nd Counsellor.

It is a wonderful milestone for this group of saints and we look forward to continued growth in the Goulburn area as they continue to love God and their neighbour.

Sister Eleanor Osmotherly has been set apart as a full-time missionary, assigned to labour in the England Leeds Mission! When the church announced the lowering of age for Sister Missionaries to 18, Eleanor was among the first to progress her mission application. Sister Osmotherly has a great desire to serve the Lord, and will be a great missionary. Her service will provide a foundation of faith, love and service for the rest of her life.
