A brief message from Dave F**g about his role at St Matthew's:

//

For the last 6 years of the St Matthew’s youth group, I have been the co-ordinator and team leader, a role which I have loved. I love the combination of building community, connecting with young people, and showing people something of who Jesus is.

However, it is time for me to move on from that part of my work.

While it is a big change for me, I feel very confident in passing on this role to Ella Tregale, our other youth worker.

Ella, as you know, joined us as a youth worker at the start of this year. She is an experienced youth worker, and she will be an excellent youth co-ordinator. She has already made many great connections with our young people, and with lots of other groups in our neighbourhood. She is an energetic, thoughtful, and determined leader.

I want to clarify that I am not moving on from St Matt's. I will still be working here as a community worker, and I am not leaving Long Gully. This is simply a change in the type of work I will be doing 😀.

That said, you may have questions you want to discuss with me, and I welcome that! Please message me at Dave F**g or email me at [email protected].

Calling all people with an interest in Long Gully...

Don't forget - next Wednesday night we have our Long Gully (draft) Community Plan review meeting - we would really love to hear what you think.

In particular we would like to hear two things:
1. Are there some things missing from this plan? Do you have any different proposals to add?
2. Are there any parts of the plan you particularly disagree with?
You can read the Draft Long Gully Community Plan by visiting the LGNC website: www.lgnc.org.au

How do you give us feedback on the Draft Community Plan?
Send an email to [email protected] or
attend the community meeting at LGNC on Wednesday 7th August, where we will present the Plan and have a discussion time
We would really love people to attend the community meeting to have your say, and also hear what other people say

Matt will be sharing with us about the Hope25 initiative, which is "an intentional season of sharing hope in Jesus for every parish and community in the Australian Anglican Church." You can find out more about this at https://www.hope25.com.au/what-is-hope25/.

Our church service is at 5pm this coming Sunday, and you are welcome to stay for dinner afterwards.

"A Community Plan for Long Gully"

You have an opportunity to provide feedback on the Draft Community Plan for Long Gully.

What is a community plan? It’s a document drawn up by the local community that tries to capture some of our hopes for the future, and to identify concerns and challenges that need to be addressed. It is a vision statement to spur community action, initiative and collaboration.

Download the draft plan from the Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre Inc website, and then you provide feedback in a few ways:

1. Send an email at [email protected]
2. Give the good folks at LGNC your feedback in person.
3. Attend a community meeting at the LGNC on Wednesday 7th August, where the draft plan will be presented and discussed.
