Here at Logan Salvos we work hard to create a safe "Gathering space" for our volunteers and our community; for those desiring company, someone to talk to, support for needs, showers, meals, or spiritual support. There are some days when working on the frontline is hard, frightening and psychologically challenging.
Tuesday was one of those days when staff were subjected to unprovoked aggression, threats and verbal violence.
How lovely and uplifting it was to our hearts to receive the below message from another community member, who witnessed the uncalled for behaviour, to encourage us.
Remember to walk kindly and gently with one another, because no one deserves anyone's anger and aggression. Making the world a place of peace starts with our behaviour to those others around us. ❤️

"Come to me, all you who are weary... "

As I reflect on Jesus words that are placed on the wall of the main entrance of Logan Salvos I am mindful and prayerful for the many pastors who serve across this City of Logan.

Friday 20th 9am the Logan City Collective of Christian ministers in North Logan meet and pray for one another.

If you know a pastor or Christian leader encourage them to come along on Friday 20th March.

A belated post today. Sometimes the opening routines and presenting community needs sweep us away from the normal parts of our community days.

We have such a wonderful team of Staff and Volunteers that give tirelessly to this community. So thankful for each of them.

Thursday done.

We look forward to Sunday when we further embrace the theme of mission in our national initiative of the way. Come and join us as we reawaken and refresh our understanding of this Christian "Way" ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

So thankful for this Community focussed event which is so supportive for the community being able to access face to face contact in an inclusive and accessible environment.

A range of organisations including Optus, Red Energy, Origin, Logan Water, Energy and Water Ombudsman, Telecommunications Ombudsman, Good Shepherd, YFS, Legal Aid and other community focussed organisations.

These organisations are there to chat, listen and help you find support with:

Overdue bills and debt.
Electricity, gas and water.
Phone and internet.
Legal information and advice.
Budgeting and money advice.
Social support services.
This free event is open to everyone in the community.

No need to book – just come along! Bring your questions, your bills and any paperwork you’d like help with.

Join us at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Thursday 26 February for our free community assistance day where you can get help with bills, talk to service providers, connect with support services and access helpful resources.
