Dear beloved congregation

A recent document, circulated online purporting to represent our parish and congregation regarding the proposed ordination of a deacon for the parish of St Mary and St Marina has come to our attention.

I wish to clearly point out-
- No request came through my weakness or any of the servants
- The alleged signatories do not appear to be active members of our congregation
- Information regarding events and the status of parish *only comes through official channels*

*Therefore the request does not represent the position of our parish in anyway whatsoever.*

Regarding such messages, please refrain from speaking on behalf of our parish without any authority or consent to do so.

May God grant peace to our humble parish of St Mary and St Marina.

أيها الإخوة والأخوات الأعزاء

وصلنا مؤخرًا وثيقة متداولة على الإنترنت تدّعي تمثيل رعيتنا وجماعتنا بخصوص اقتراح رسامة شماس لرعية القديسة مريم والقديسة مارينا.

أودّ أن أوضح ما يلي:
- لم يأتِ أي طلب من خلالي أو من خلال أيٍّ من خدام الرعية.

- لا يبدو أن الموقعين المزعومين أعضاء فاعلين في رعيتنا.

- لا تصلنا المعلومات المتعلقة بالأحداث وأوضاع الرعية إلا عبر القنوات الرسمية.

لذا، لا يُمثّل هذا الطلب موقف رعيتنا بأيّ شكل من الأشكال.

فيما يخصّ هذه الرسائل، يُرجى الامتناع عن التحدث باسم رعيتنا دون تفويض أو موافقة.

نسأل الله أن يمنّ على رعيتنا المتواضعة، رعية القديسة مريم والقديسة مارينا، بالسلام.

Peace and grace

We are thankful to the support and direction received from His Holiness Pope Tawadros II regarding the ordination of Uncle Magdy to the rank of deacon.

As announced yesterday, God willing, the ordination will take place on Friday 17 July during the morning liturgy with the blessings of our Lord and fathers metropolitans and bishops.

We continue to trust in the hand of God that peace will prevail for our parish in all matters as He sees fit, in His time.

Further details to follow.

Please continue to pray our parish, all our congregation and my weakness.
