A Facebook post circulated by Mr. Girgis Ghaly has falsely claimed that St. Mary and St. Marina's congregation is organising a protest in front of the Egyptian Consulate on June 14, 2026, at 1 pm. The Parish Council and the Rev. Fathers confirm that this event is not sanctioned, organised, encouraged, or endorsed by the Church or its administration. Instead, the Church promotes calm and unity, especially during these challenging times.

Please keep the church in your prayers.

To Our Beloved Church Family,

Grace and peace to you all. 🙏

The Parish Council wishes to inform our congregation that we have received a phone call from His Grace Bishop Daniel, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Sydney, advising of a decision to recall our parish priest, Father Amounious, back to Egypt, effective this coming Friday 12/06/2026

We believe it is important to advise the congregation that this decision was communicated to us suddenly and without any consultation, explanation or reasons being provided.

In the spirit of transparency and out of respect for our church family, we wanted to ensure that everyone is aware of this development. The Parish Council is undertaking further enquires.

We ask for your prayers for Father Amounious, our clergy, our congregation, and all those involved during this time. Above all, we place our trust in God’s wisdom, guidance, and care for His Church.

May the Lord grant peace, unity, and His abundant blessings to all.

إلى شعب الكنسية الحبيب,

السلام والنعمة عليكم جميعاً. 🙏

يودّ مجلس الكنيسة إعلامكم بأننا تلقّينا اتصالاً هاتفياً من صاحب النيافة الأنبا دانيال، أسقف إيبارشية سيدني القبطية الأرثوذكسية، يُبلّغنا فيه بقرار استدعاء كاهن رعيتنا الأب أمونيوس للعودة إلى مصر، وذلك اعتباراً من يوم الجمعة القادم الموافق ١٢/٠٦/٢٠٢٦.

ونرى من الضروري أن نُعلم الجماعة بأن هذا القرار أُبلّغ إلينا بشكل مفاجئ وبدون أي تشاور أو توضيح أو ذكر لأسباب.

وفي روح الشفافية واحتراماً لشعب الكنسية، أردنا التأكد من أن الجميع على علم بهذا التطور. ومجلس الكنيسة يقوم حالياً بإجراء مزيد من الاستفسارات.

نطلب صلواتكم من أجل ابونا أمونيوس، ورجال الكهنوت، وجماعتنا، وجميع المعنيين في هذا الوقت. وفوق كل شيء، نضع ثقتنا في حكمة الله وهدايته ورعايته لكنيسته.

ليمنح الرب السلام والوحدة ووفرة بركاته للجميع.
