It's spring, and during spring there's always something new to discover in the Hoskins Memorial Uniting Church Garden.

The rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias have started to bloom; the perennials are enjoying these sunny days after a wet winter; the white daisies are popping up in the green grass under the elm trees and some of the blossom trees are already covered in blossom.

The Hoskins Garden is open to visitors 365 days a year.

The Church will be open as usual for visitors on the first Saturday of the month between 10 am and 1 pm so why not take the opportunity to visit both on Satruday 5th September.

Please feel free to post your photos of the Gardens or the Church on your page and tag us in your post.

On Satruday our volunteers will answer your questions on the history of the church and the Hoskins family, conduct a personal tour or leave you to sit in quiet contemplation.

Our friends Gabriella and Stasia will provide a musical interlude for 2 hours during the morning.

How times have changed!

Moving forward..2026... dress code in our church is not an issue.

And livestreaming is a new way of reaching out to those who can't attend some funerals and special events.

Last Sunday 30th August 2026 our new Lay Pastor, Keith McPherson was commissioned during our Combined Parish Worship service at 11am.

Good afternoon, friends and supporters of Lithgow Parish and Hoskins Memorial Church. This Sunday, 30 August, we celebrate a very special occasion in the life of our Parish — the commissioning of Pastor Keith Iain McPherson to serve in a half-time ministry position for the next two years. 11:00 am and live-streamed. We warmly invite you to join us.

Following the service, we will share a fellowship lunch together in the Parish Centre.

Then, at 2:30 pm, we are hosting a fundraising performance, Moving Along, presented by Rev. Betty Stroud. Tickets available at the door for $10.

The afternoon performance will support CanAssist Lithgow, which provides financial assistance to local people and families facing the unexpected costs and challenges that can follow a cancer diagnosis.

Most importantly, we would be delighted to have you join us as we celebrate the commissioning of Pastor Keith and this important new chapter in the life of our Parish.
