This weekend is The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal. In one of our busiest times, we slow down and consider Jesus' words to Nicodemus in John 3. What was his message to Nicodemus and what does it mean for us?

This weekend is The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal. This appeal raises much-needed funds to help those doing it tough right here in our local community. Thank you to those who have contributed in person to this year's appeal. Who will be the first to donate online and get our digital doorknock underway?

Do a bucket load of good. Support the Salvos today and leave no one in need.

Research conducted for our annual Red Shield Appeal has found that with the extreme pressures of housing costs at an unprecedented high, those on government support payments are left with $11 a day, and those on minimum wage only $4 a day, after paying for housing. This has meant that our local teams have seen a six-fold increase in people on wages presenting to our services for help. ⁣

Journalist, TV and radio presenter Joe Hildebrand attempted to live a day in his life with just $20 (the amount someone on minimum wage, government assistance and a family up to three kids is left with after paying for their housing costs. You can check that out in our Facebook stories). ⁣

“It’s astonishing to think that in a country like Australia a family could have as little as $20 a day to live on after the cost of putting a roof over their head – yet this is exactly what countless families struggle to survive on. The good news is that the Salvos are out there making those choices easier so please choose to help them if you can,” Joe said. ⁣

Australians have been through a testing time recently. Events of the past year have resulted in widespread unemployment and financial instability, and amplified existing social issues like never before. Countless Aussies – many for the first time – are reaching out to us for support.

We continue to provide services to individuals and families doing it tough, knowing that we are now needed more than ever.
To ensure that the harmful impacts of the past year’s events do not have a long-lasting effect on the most vulnerable in our communities, we need your help.

Please donate to or fundraise for us to help us continue our work alongside people in need.

Together we can give hope where it’s needed most.

Do a bucket load of good. Support the Salvos today and leave no one in need.

When we think about a church community, we often think about people who have a set of common beliefs and behaviours as their starting point. We assume that it's these common beliefs and behaviours that give them a sense of belonging within a church community. As we explore this next series entitled 'Community,' we'll discover that when Jesus invited people to be a part of his new covenant family - his 'Community' - there were no such starting points. He invited people to draw near, and find belonging long before they had it all figured out. Join us this Sunday at our 9:30am face-to-face services or online as we begin this new series together. Looking forward to connecting with you!
