The North Shore Synagogue (NSS) is a welcoming, all-inclusive Modern Orthodox community. Known as the Garden Synagogue" because of its beautiful surroundings, it was, in 1947, the first synagogue to be established on Sydney's North Shore. It still is an integral part of Sydney's Jewish community over 75 years later.

As well as its regular services, The North Shore Synagogue has Bar and Bat Mitzv

ah programs, regular functions and events to celebrate Jewish holidays and festivals, such as Purim celebrations, a Pre-Pesach Shabbat Dinner, a Shavuot Tikkun Leil, and much more.

Led by Rabbi Paul Lewin, Chazan Zvi Teichtahl and President Mironne Golan, the community is happy to welcome new families and guests to its congregation in the leafy suburb of Lindfield.

For many Australian Jews, this year's Census feels different.

It's understandable that some people are thinking more carefully than ever before about identifying themselves as Jewish.

If that's crossed your mind, you're certainly not alone.

At the same time, every person who chooses to identify as Jewish helps ensure our community is seen, understood and planned for.

The Australian Census provides one of the most important sources of information about Australia's Jewish community.

Gen26 then helps guide planning and investment across Jewish education, welfare, security, community programs and communal life for years to come.

We also understand why privacy matters.

Both the Census and Gen26 have strong privacy and security measures in place, and individual responses are not published in a way that identifies you or your household.

The truth is...

Children don't just inherit what we teach them.

They inherit what they see us value.

Sometimes reconnecting isn't only for us.

It's one of the greatest gifts we can give our children 💙
