Lindfield Killara Catholic Parish We support each other to grow in faith and create a loving and compassionate community. We are located in northern Sydney in New South Wales, Australia.

Welcome to our parish of Lindfield-Killara with its two churches of Holy Family at Lindfield and Immaculate Heart of Mary at Killara. The greater metropolitan area of Sydney and its hinterland is divided into three separate dioceses and the northern part of Sydney and the Central Coast to its north is the territory of the Diocese of Broken Bay. The Archdiocese of Sydney lies to our south and the D

iocese of Parramatta to our west. Our bishop is Most Rev. Anthony Randazzo. Our parish came together in 2010 from the union of two pre-existing parishes - Lindfield (founded 1939) and Killara (founded 1961). In the model we are following however we still retain two distinct (though of course collaborating and cooperating) communities within our single parish structure: the communities gathered around our two parish churches of Immaculate Heart of Mary at Killara and Holy Family of Nazareth at Lindfield. 💛 This Father’s Day, let us remember the Fathers who have always cared for us.

For decades, our priests have walked beside us through life’s most important moments—celebrating our joys, comforting us in sorrow and guiding us in faith.

On Sunday 6 September, we invite you to help return that care. Your gift to the St Joseph’s Appeal will help provide accommodation, healthcare and personalised support for our retired priests, allowing them to live with dignity, comfort and peace.

Join us on Thursday, 3 September at Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Church, Chatswood, as we celebrate the 30th Episcopal Anniversary of Bishop David Walker!

The evening will be especially meaningful as we also welcome the major relic of St Carlo Acutis.

Time: Mass begins at 7:00 PM (preceded by Solemn Vespers & Relic Welcome)

All are welcome to attend, and no registration is required. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion together!

A major relic of St Carlo Acutis will be welcomed into the Diocese of Broken Bay on Thursday, 3 September, as part of a nationwide pilgrimage across Australia.

The relic will arrive at Our Lady of Dolours, Chatswood, before continuing to East Gosford and then Warnervale in the following days.

A number of opportunities will be available to pray before the relic, including Masses, Eucharistic Adoration, public veneration, and school visits.

Special events for young adults will also be held in both Chatswood and Gosford, providing an opportunity for young people to come together in prayer and community.

Please Welcome Fr Setefano Mataele SM

This weekend we warmly welcome Fr Setefano Mataele SM as our new full-time Assistant Priest.

Originally from Tonga, Fr Setefano is a Marist priest and former Provincial of the Oceania Province of the Marists. Most recently, he has been serving at the Marist Generalate in Rome. He will live with the Marist community at Hunters Hill while serving our parish.

We are deeply grateful to Fr Stephen Hill for his faithful service to our parish over the past few years and wish him every blessing as he takes on his expanded responsibilities with the Ordinariate. We also thank Fr David Ranson for his support in helping make Fr Setefano's appointment possible, and Archbishop Anthony Randazzo for confirming the appointment before taking up his new role in Rome.

Please join us in giving Fr Setefano a warm parish welcome. He is looking forward to getting to know our wonderful community, and we look forward to sharing this journey of faith with him. 🙏💙
