We join with Baptist Churches SA & NT and our family of churches in Victoria in acknowledging and praying for Helen Haines, in condemning all acts of violence and intimidation, and in seeking wisdom, compassion and peace across our Australian community.

The Baptist Union of Victoria is deeply saddened by the reported attack on Federal Member for Indi, Dr Helen Haines, and extends our thoughts and prayers to Helen, her family and all those affected.

Our Baptist movement has valued opportunities to engage with Helen through advocacy conversations and meetings in Parliament, and we are grateful for the time she has given us and for her willingness to listen and engage with the concerns of our churches and communities. We condemn all acts of violence and intimidation, and believe these have no place in our communities or in the respectful engagement that should underpin public life.

We pray for Helen’s recovery and for wisdom, compassion and peace in our community during this difficult time.

Laura Baptist welcomes Victor Harbor Baptist Church to the beautiful mid-north! After a great evening getting to know you over country style soup and Golden North Icecream we can’t wait for the rest of the weekend.

Laura Baptist Christian Community is a demographically diverse and growing regional church just 220 km north of the Adelaide C*D in the beautiful mid-north of South Australia. The church is seeking a Children and Family Ministry Coordinator (0.2 FTE) who feels called by God and is passionate about children hearing the gospel and being discipled as followers of Jesus. The successful applicant will embody the values of the gospel, be biblically orientated and authentically relational. This Sunday 30th August come and hear Sarah Lenigas from Baptist World Aid share stories of the way ordinary Australians are supporting communities facing disaster, poverty and the impact of war. Gather at 10am for coffee then 1030 worship gathering.
As a response to the devastating flooding in Nepal there will be an opportunity to give to Baptist World Aid’s Nepal Flood Response.

As deadly floods devastate communities across Nepal and over 1,000 people are reported missing, please join us in praying for everyone affected, and for search and rescue teams as they respond. May those who are grieving find comfort, those who have lost homes find support, and those responding to the crisis have strength and wisdom to meet everyone's needs.

We pray especially for our Partners and the communities they support, trusting that God's hope and provision will shine through even in difficult times. 🙏
