THE PEOPLE YOU HANG OUT WITH ARE DOING TO THIS TO YOU
The people we hang out with most will determine how we think. As the saying goes, "Show me your friends, and I'll show you how you think."
What we feed on is what we become. It's out of the abundance of our hearts. Stay long enough around the wrong people, and we just might start to think like them.
Surrounding yourself with the wrong people is not a great place to be. Good, strong, spiritual partnerships are so important.
Before the Psalms get into all the stuff about being fearfully and wonderfully made, about the Lord being our fortress and deliverer, it all starts here.
Psalm 1:1-2 says, "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night."
Veer away from the scoffers. If your friendship group is full of them, take it to the Lord. Take it to the Lord. He'll do the pruning.
People we thought were friends will run for the hills. All of a sudden we're left alone, but we're not alone at all. We're back to where we needed to be, in the presence of the King of Kings.
His grace is sufficient, and with Him, He has more than enough. So who are you hanging out with? Who are you drawing encouragement from, and who are you speaking life into?
