ONE CALL, ONE NATION

Lakemba Mosque is seeking approval to broadcast the Friday Adhan through loudspeakers in a respectful, limited and regulated way.

This is not about noise. This is about belonging.

For generations, Lakemba Mosque has been a spiritual home for thousands of Australian Muslims - a place of prayer, family, community and connection.

The request is simple and reasonable: once a week, on Fridays, for 3 minutes at midday, under proper acoustic controls, in a way that respects both worshippers and residents.

🎓 A historic night for Azhar Australia College!

Last Friday, LMA hosted the first ever Graduation Ceremony for Azhar Australia College - six graduates from the very first cohort, after three years of dedicated Islamic study.

Since 2023, the college has grown into a respected centre of Islamic learning, delivering 35 subjects across Shariah, Qur'an and Arabic under the vision of Sheikh Yahya Safi.

The best day of the year is here!

The Day of Arafah is monumental. It’s a day filled with mercy, reward, and the opportunity to return to Allah ﷻ with a clean heart.

Here’s why this day matters so deeply:

🕋 1. The Day on Which the Religion Was Perfected
“This day I have perfected for you your religion…” (Qur’an 5:3)
This verse was revealed on Arafah - a sign of its weight and honour.

🌌 2. A Day of Divine Oaths
Allah swears by it in the Qur’an:
“By the witness and what is witnessed” (al-Burooj 85:3) — the “witnessed day” is Arafah.

🔥 3. The Day of Maximum Forgiveness
“No day is greater or more beloved to Allah for freeing people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.” (Muslim)

🕌 4. The Central Day of Hajj
“Hajj is Arafah.” (Tirmidhi)
For the hujjaj, this is the heart of their pilgrimage: standing, making dua, and seeking forgiveness.

🌙 5. A Day That Wipes Away Years of Sin
“Fasting the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the past and coming year.” (Muslim)
Two years of sins forgiven with one sincere fast!

If you’re not at Arafah, you still have the chance to be counted amongst those who are forgiven.

📿 Fast. Make dhikr. Give sadaqah.
🤲 Raise your hands in dua, especially before Maghrib.
