Kyabram Catholic Parish

Kyabram Catholic Parish Welcome to the Kyabram Catholic Parish Community
Parish Priest – Fr Uday Marneni St Patrick’s at Tongala is Prep to Year 6 school with 50 students.

The Parish of St Augustine’s in Kyabram was in the care of the Augustinians for over 100 years. Visits by priests began around 1875 and the first church, St Monica’s, was built at present-day Ky West in 1878. From 1886, Augustinians from Echuca ministered in the area until the parish, which includes St Patrick’s, Tongala, was established in 1903. Today, the Parish has two schools, St Augustine’s C

ollege (F-12) in Kyabram and St Patrick’s Primary in Tongala, both conducted for many years by the Brigidine Sisters. Our College introduced Year 11 & 12 in 2010 and we are at capacity with nearly 700 students. St Augustine’s church underwent major renovations and extensions in 2000. The new liturgical area enhances our liturgy and parishioner involvement. The Augustinian Fathers have had the responsibility of three parishes in the Sandhurst Diocese – Rochester, Echuca and Kyabram. Over a period of time, they have withdrawn their ministry till early 2006 when they withdrew from Kyabram. This was the last of the three parishes to return to the control of the diocese. The Augustinians were the last Religious Order to return parishes to the diocese. Fr Michael Morley who was Parish Priest of Tatura was asked to be also the Parish Priest of Kyabram. In January 2017, Fr Cornelio (Jinjo) Solis commenced Parish Priest of Kyabram Parish. We are basically a farming community relying on the farming sector to stimulate the financial growth of the town. The community have faced the hard times in the past with 10-year droughts etc but they have amazing resilience to keep ongoing. We welcome visitors to our town and especially to our parish. We would also enjoy your company at our weekend Masses or special liturgies during the year, such as Anzac Day, Mothers Day and others.

Today we celebrate Corpus Christi Sunday.
O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament
have left us a memorial of your Passion,
grant us, we pray,
so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood
that we may always experience in ourselves
the fruits of your redemption.
Who live and reign with God the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

The month of June is deeply marked by the love of Christ and the love of His Mother. In a special way, the Church places before us two inseparable hearts: the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These devotions are not separate realities but a single mystery of love, redemption, and perfect cooperation in God’s plan of salvation.

✝️ 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐄 𝟏𝟐: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐌𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒

On this solemnity, the Church fixes her gaze on the Heart of Christ, pierced on the Cross and burning with divine love for humanity. The Sacred Heart reveals the fullness of God’s mercy, a love that suffers, forgives, and saves.

It is a Heart that: • loves without measure
• suffers without complaint
• forgives without limit
• and gives itself completely in the Eucharist

On this day, the faithful are invited to return love for Love, to console the Heart of Jesus through prayer, repentance, and deeper devotion to the Holy Eucharist.

✝️ 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐄 𝟏𝟑: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘

The day after the Sacred Heart, the Church honors the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a heart formed perfectly in obedience, purity, and love for God’s will. Mary’s Heart is inseparable from the Heart of Christ, for she always leads us to Him.

Her Heart is: • a heart of perfect humility
• a heart of total obedience to God
• a heart that meditates deeply on Christ
• a heart that suffers with the suffering Son

In honoring her Immaculate Heart, we learn how to love Jesus more purely and how to remain faithful even in suffering.

✝️ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒

The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are not separate devotions in opposition, but one divine harmony.

• The Heart of Jesus is the source of redemption
• The Heart of Mary is the perfect response of a creature to that redemption
• Christ’s Heart saves
• Mary’s Heart receives and leads souls to that salvation

Together, they show the perfect relationship between God’s love and human cooperation in grace.

✝️ 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘

These two great days in June reveal the mystery of love at the center of the Christian faith: • The Sacred Heart of Jesus reveals God’s infinite mercy
• The Immaculate Heart of Mary reveals perfect human response to God
• Together they form one path: love of God and union with Christ

To honor these Hearts is to enter into the deepest mystery of salvation itself.

This Sunday we celebrate Trinity Sunday.
God our Father, who by sending into the world
the Word of truth and the Spirit of sanctification
made known to the human race your wondrous mystery,
grant us, we pray, that in professing the true faith,
we may acknowledge the Trinity of eternal glory
and adore your Unity, powerful in majesty.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
