Awaken Retreats

Spiritual direction seeks to help you awaken and deepen your relationship with God. It is a prayerful conversation between two people where one person invites the other to accompany them on their faith journey.

We currently have places available for spiritual direction - both face-to-face or online via Zoom. Whether you participate once or with regularity, it is an opportunity to simply notice where God seems active or distant in your life and in doing so, to deepen your awareness of Him.

Anyone can participate - it doesn't matter what denominational background you come from, whether you are "spiritual enough", how old you are or whether you are male or female.

Q) How does an online retreat work?
A) We will meet together via Zoom. To join the retreat, you will need a computer with a camera and microphone.

Q) Will I be online all day?
A) The day retreat will have 3 sessions, followed by an opportunity for group sharing at the end. Just like a face-to-face retreat, we will start each session together. We will then take time on our own for personal reflection. During this time you may like to disconnect from Zoom. Alternatively, you may like to simply mute your microphone and turn off your camera.

Q) Won't I be distracted if I'm on my own?
A) Going on any retreat requires discipline and it will be the same when you join us online. If you are concerned that you will see tasks around your house that need doing, or be distracted by pets or other people, you might like to take yourself away for the day. Alternatively, find a quiet place within your house where you can choose to spend the day in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Q) What if I need to talk to someone?
A) During each session there will be a private Zoom room where you can meet with someone if you would like to talk or pray.
