🌿 Creating New Spaces for Reflection and Remembrance

While the winter weather certainly made for a challenging day, Marcus has been hard at work preparing a new ash placement offering within Barakee Waters.

This new area is being carefully developed by our Operations Team to provide additional memorialisation options for families, supporting both those planning ahead and those arranging an ash placement for a loved one.

Every new garden space at Carr Villa is created with care and consideration, ensuring it complements the surrounding landscape while providing a peaceful and meaningful place for reflection and remembrance.

We look forward to sharing more details with our community once this new section is completed and available. Stay tuned for further updates as work progresses.

🌫️ Morning Fog Across Carr Villa Memorial Park

Visitors to Carr Villa Memorial Park this morning may notice something a little unusual, a thick blanket of fog has settled across the site, creating some of the lowest visibility conditions we have seen in quite some time.

While the fog creates a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, we ask all visitors to take extra care when travelling through the park.

🚗 Please adhere to the 10 km/h speed limit at all times and drive to the conditions, allowing extra time to see pedestrians, vehicles, and maintenance staff.

🚶 If you are walking through the park, please remain aware of vehicle movements, use designated pathways where possible, and take extra care when walking roadways or moving between memorial areas.

Our team is also taking additional precautions while undertaking their daily duties to ensure the safety of all visitors.

🌹 Rose Garden A Enhancements Complete 🌹

We're pleased to share that maintenance and enhancement works within Rose Garden A have now been completed.

Over recent months, our team has installed new dripper irrigation lines and laid pebble ground coverings throughout the garden. These improvements will help retain soil moisture, improve watering efficiency, reduce w**d growth, and support the long-term health and vitality of the roses.

With more than 5,000 standard roses located throughout Carr Villa Memorial Park, these gardens are much more than a landscape feature. Each rose represents a loved one and provides a special place for remembrance, reflection, and connection.

While the roses are currently in their winter dormancy, these behind-the-scenes improvements are an investment in the seasons ahead. As the warmer months return and the gardens burst into colour during October and November, visitors will be able to enjoy an even more vibrant and healthy display of blooms supported by these enhancements.

A special thank you to our Operations Team for their dedication and hard work in delivering these improvements. Projects such as these are undertaken alongside the team's day-to-day responsibilities of maintaining the park, preparing and conducting burial and cremation services, and carrying out ash placements for families. Their commitment ensures Carr Villa continues to be presented to a high standard while providing compassionate and professional service to our community.

Our next AusAlert test is in Launceston, Tasmania at 11:00 am Monday 15 June 2026. ⚠️

Here’s what you need to know. 👇

A test AusAlert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in the City of Launceston Official area between 11:00 am and midday on Monday 15 June 2026.

If you are near the test area with a compatible mobile device, you may receive the alert. 📱

Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. An AusAlert may appear on your device screen. It will clearly say it is a test. You don't need to do anything.

There will also be a national test on Monday 27 July 2026, at around 2:00 pm AEST. AusAlerts will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.

Ensure you can receive AusAlerts by installing the latest software update and restarting your device. Updates also fix bugs, improve performance, and may boost battery life. ✅

If you're visiting Carr Villa Memorial Park today, you may notice a specialist tree maintenance crew working throughout the cemetery.

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented memorial park, regular inspections and maintenance are undertaken across our extensive tree network. Today's works focus on the pruning and management of larger trees to help maintain their health, structure and long-term condition.

With winter bringing stronger winds and storm activity, proactive tree maintenance plays an important role in reducing the risk of fallen branches and ensuring the safety of visitors, staff and memorial areas.
