Project Kosher in Tassie:
It almost takes a village to organsie and get Tassie Jews their frozen goods - even the little one chips in and doesnt get away with it!

Fun fact, usually you would think these things would become easier after many years of organising it and creating systems - unfortunately I wish this was the case, the import of our frozen shipments have become increasingly more complex (and much more costly) in the last few years 🫣

Will post more details about its complexities at another time...now back to Shabbat preps.

Moving into a new home brings about changes and excitement from all end, but the most important aspect is securing it 💪

Not only physically but spiritually also.

How many people visit Launceston and suddenly discover that we have a 180-year-old shul?

This always reminds people that it's an incredible opportunity to do another mitzvah, to connect with our heritage, and to experience the warm hospitality of the local community.

After a year without a car, Zack finally got back behind the wheel - and the first place he chose to drive was Chabad.

And what better way to mark the occasion than with a visit, a warm welcome, and the sound of the shofar?

Elul is a time to pause, reflect, reconnect and begin again. Sometimes, a new beginning is as simple as getting back on the road and knowing where you want to go first.

Today is the first of Elul

We start a month of reflection.
When we blow the Shofar it reminds us to return to G-d and prepare ourselves for the High Holidays.

Over the past months, we’ve been exploring "Insights for Life” - a series based on the 12 Pesukim that the Rebbe encouraged every Jewish child and adult to study, know, and live with.

These 12 verses contain some of the most fundamental ideas in Judaism; timeless teachings that speak directly to the way we live our lives.

From the opening idea that Torah is our inheritance; something that belongs to each and every one of us - through to the final message that living with joy isn’t simply an added bonus, but an essential ingredient of Jewish life.

Because joy, Torah, and our connection to Hashem are not separate parts of life. They are all connected to our ultimate purpose: to make this world a home for Hashem.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this special series, for the learning, the questions, the conversations - and, of course, the tea (or coffee for some of us)! ☕️📖

And we’re not stopping here…

Next week we begin a new mini-series leading up to Rosh Hashana:
“4 Biblical Narratives with Timeless, Life-Shaping Relevance.”

Four stories. Four timeless lessons. And plenty to think about as we approach the New Year.

We’d love for you to join us!

It was a special visit with Lilian this week. Firstly acknowledging her husband Gershon's yartzeit and secondly introducing her to one the youngest members of the community.

Highlighting the idea that in the same way, the sun sets, it rises again the next day - generations of humanity may go to the next world, but it is always followed with the birth of a new generation.

Wishing Lilian long life filled with health and nachas from everyone.

P.s Excuse the afternoon sun blinding the photo
