This Reconciliation Week, we reflect on the journey so far—and the road still ahead.
The 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, speaks to the unbroken connection between past, present and future. It invites all Australians to walk forward together, grounded in truth and guided by the lessons of our shared history.

At Leprena UAICC, we honour the strength of our Ancestors and the legacy of resistance, resilience and renewal that continues today. We remember milestones like Corroboree 2000 and the generations of voices that called for justice and reconciliation—and we continue that work with unwavering commitment.

Reconciliation is not a moment in time. It’s an ongoing movement that requires truth-telling, listening, respect and action.

Now is the time to reflect, recommit, and take action—to bridge now to next, together.

Today marks the start of National Reconciliation Week, an opportunity for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The 2025 theme, 'Bridging Now to Next', reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future, and calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.
In conjunction with National Reconciliation Week, and for use throughout the year, the Synod's Justice and International Mission Unit has prepared a Covenanting Pathways Toolkit for congregations and faith communities.
The toolkit and its supporting resources have been designed for a Victorian and Tasmanian context to explore contemporary pathways to connect, or re-connect, with Covenanting.

"With humility and repentance, we confess that our voice has not been clear or courageous in naming the immense and disproportionate suffering of Palestine. We lament our silences and hesitation. We know we cannot claim peace as our prayer if we have not named the injustices we see."

In this season of Easter, Uniting Church President Rev Charissa Suli has released a public statement affirming the solidarity of the Uniting Church with the suffering people of Palestine.
