“Men, when I talk about temptation, you know what one of the greatest temptations is, and it's her. You can't walk out of this building. You can't go anywhere in public and not see flesh, nudity, seductresses, dressing to appeal, dressing to look good, short and low. And here are men who want to live right. Men that want to be holy. They have nowhere to turn because in a 360º circle, it's everywhere.

“But the problem is that they have to see it in church. No man ought to have to fight that in church. Ladies, girls, when you get up to get dressed to come to church, you need to realize you're coming to the holy house of God. You ought not to come here to show your legs. And if you're constantly having to fight to stay decent, you got the wrong wardrobe. You need to change wardrobes.

“This is a place where you come in and the spirit of God fills it and Jesus is here and his holiness is here. And you ought not to be the cause for a man having to fight his flesh in a service.

“Well, pastor, what about the men? I've had no complaints about a man whose britches were too short.

“Here's another one. But pastor, that's our culture. Now hear me. When you get saved, you change cultures. I don't care what you call French, Russian, Romanian, I don't care what it is.

“When you get saved, you become a Christian, and you conduct yourself as a Christian and you dress modestly for the glory of God.”

Nonbelievers often claim the Chinese were somehow silent about Noah’s Flood or that Chinese civilization existed independently before the biblical events of Genesis. But the historical traditions themselves tell a very different story. According to the biblical worldview, the Chinese people, like all nations, descended from the post-Flood generations that spread across the earth after Babel through the line of Japheth and the dispersal of mankind after Noah’s Flood.

What is fascinating is that China is not silent about these events at all. In fact, researchers have documented over 200 ancient Chinese traditions, legends, and cultural references connected to themes resembling Creation, the Flood, and Babel. These stories are deeply embedded into Chinese history, oral tradition, ceremonies, and even elements of ancient writing systems.

The Gun-Yu traditions speak of catastrophic floodwaters overwhelming the world. Nuwa legends describe humanity surviving a devastating flood and restoring order afterward. The Dai people preserve stories of a great deluge covering the earth with survivors escaping destruction and beginning civilization again after the waters receded.

Even more striking are the connections within ancient Chinese symbols and characters. Some researchers have pointed out that the traditional Chinese character for “boat” combines symbols associated with a vessel, the number eight, and mouths or persons, something many creation researchers see as a remarkable echo of the eight survivors aboard Noah’s Ark. Other ancient traditions preserve stories of language confusion and humanity scattering after attempting to unite together, strongly paralleling Babel.

These are not random similarities scattered across disconnected myths. They are widespread memories preserved across generations and cultures. When civilizations separated by geography and language continue carrying echoes of Creation, the Flood, and Babel, the question becomes unavoidable: why?

The evidence points toward a common human history, exactly as Genesis describes.

Johann Sebastian Bach wrote the letters SDG at the bottom of every piece of music he ever composed.

Soli Deo Gloria. To God alone be the glory.

Not just on his church music. Not just on his cantatas and passions and oratorios. On everything. On dance suites. On instrumental pieces. On the exercises he wrote for his children and students. Every single composition carried that dedication — a deliberate, consistent act of attribution that said everything about how Bach understood what he was doing.

He also wrote JJ at the top of most scores before he began. Jesu Juva. Jesus help me.

Every composition began with a prayer and ended with a dedication.

Bach is widely considered the greatest composer who ever lived — a status that even his rivals and critics in his own era struggled to deny. The Well-Tempered Clavier. The Goldberg Variations. The Mass in B Minor. The St. Matthew Passion.

The Brandenburg Concertos. Music of such mathematical perfection and emotional depth that musicians and composers two and three centuries later found it inexhaustible.

What most people don't know is that Bach was also a serious biblical scholar. He owned and annotated a three-volume theological commentary on the Bible — his annotations are still studied by scholars today. His understanding of Scripture was not casual or conventional. He brought the same rigorous intelligence to theology that he brought to counterpoint.

He saw music as a branch of theology. He believed that well-ordered music was a glorification of God and had a practical effect on the soul.

Albert Schweitzer — himself a concert organist as well as a theologian and physician — wrote that Bach's music embodied a relationship with God that was far more profound than what many theologians had managed in words.
