🎶 A SPECIAL MORNING OF MUSIC & WORSHIP 🎶

Come and join us on Sunday 30th August for a very special service at the later time of 11am in the Kaniva Community Church Hall, featuring the Gibson family and their unique mix of traditional hymns, beautiful harmonies with a Spanish musical flavour.

The Gibsons previously called Kaniva home during Covid before moving to Western Australia, where they worked with Indigenous communities. They are now living in Ararat — and we’re delighted they’re coming back to Kaniva to share their music with us.

🎹 John Gibson is an accomplished musical director and arranger, bringing his Chilean heritage into his music. With keyboard, Spanish guitar and other instruments, together with the family’s beautiful harmonies, this promises to be a very special morning.

And there’s more…

🍽️ Stay afterwards for a shared lunch - just bring a plate to share.

❤️ There will be a love offering, and we’ll be using our new sound system in the Hall for the first time.

🌿 This Sunday at Kaniva Community Church 😊

We’re looking forward to welcoming Pastor Simon Risson, who will be bringing us the message from Matthew 15:1–28.

It’s a fascinating passage that challenges the difference between looking like we’re doing the right thing on the outside and what is really happening in our hearts. 💛

And there’s something a bit different happening too… 🔎👀

🔊 A big upgrade at Kaniva Community Church!

You may have noticed a lot of activity around the church hall last week… well, we’ve upgraded the sound system in the hall, and it’s a great step forward for our church and everyone who uses the space.

Interestingly, many years ago, Doug Wallis had the foresight to lay a conduit between the church and the hall. Decades later, we’ve finally put it to use! 👏

The hall is now hard-connected to the church, allowing us to share audio and project into the hall. We’ve also installed a separate sound system in the hall, same as the church, completing the upgrade 🎶📺

While the equipment is second-hand, it represents a major improvement and an important investment in the future of our church. It will benefit everyone who uses the hall — including for funerals, movie nights, community gatherings and special events.

And we’re looking forward to putting it to good use at our upcoming special music and lunch service 🎶🍽️

A beautiful Sunday at Kaniva Community Church 💛😊

A big thank you to Kerryn for leading us in worship today 🙌

We were reminded through the words of the hymn “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” that we are never overlooked or forgotten. Even in the quiet or difficult moments of life, we are seen, known, and cared for 💛

“His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over me…” 🕊️
“I sing because I’m happy… I sing because I’m free…” 🎶
