I’m currently looking for key prophetic people/intercessors who currently attend a Catholic/Anglican or a Lutheran fellowship in Brisbane.

From my reading this morning: there is a need for more of us to have the Ministry of Eli.

I'm very big on 1 Samuel 3:10 - praying, "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening."

Samuel learned this prayer from Eli. Samuel heard his name being called out three times, but he did not know that it was God who was speaking to him. 1 Samuel 3:7 says "Samuel did not yet know the Lord, the Lord's message had not yet been revealed to him."

How many people do we know that as yet do not know the Lord and that the Lord's message has not yet been revealed to them?
Yet God is speaking to them, calling out their name, but they have not recognised that it is God calling them.

Eli had a revelation that it was indeed the Lord that was calling Samuel and so instructed Samuel that if you hear your name been called again, say: "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."

And that is exactly what Samuel did, and then the revelation started to flow.

In our conversations with people today, I think we need to become aware of God speaking to others when they don't know that it is actually God and help them to discern the voice of God for themselves.

Samuel went on to be an incredible leader who was very sharp in the way he heard the word of God.

How many people is God wanting to raise up to be Samuel's in this season? A simple conversation with someone helping them to know it is the voice of God speaking to them could just set them on that path today.

"There is little doubt that Jesus's life was a very busy life. He was busy teaching his disciples, preaching to the crowds, healing the sick, exorcising demons, responding to questions from foes and friends, and moving from one place to another. Jesus was so involved in activities that it became difficult to have any time alone. Yet he found a way to leave the crowd, withdraw from the pressing needs, and embrace solitude and silence. Alone with God in prayer, he could hear the spoken word directly from the heart of God. Solitary prayer was the source of his strength, the well of his wisdom, and the womb of his words. Having been in the presence of God, Jesus was able to discern God's will for the moment. After the time set apart for solitude, silence, prayer, and listening, he knew where to go, what to say, and what to do the rest of the day."

Pam Leake and I would like to extend an invitation to you to see the new movie being released called The Forge Movie.

As someone who has championed Christians in Business for over 25 years, I would like to encourage you particularly to attend this movie as it gives an incredible portrayal of what it means to be an owner of a Christian business.

It focuses on the purpose of being in business, which is to glorify God. Then, it looks into how the functions of a Christian business owner are carried out in detail. Those functions of evangelism, discipleship, providing an excellent product/service, providing for your family and funding the kingdom.

It does this while incorporating the power of prayer and forgiveness and how to handle the difficult economic times we are currently experiencing.

It is a movie for the current season we are in.

To give as many of our friends as possible an opportunity to see this movie, we have secured two screening times. Monday 26 August and Wednesday 28 August at 7 pm at the Southbank Cineplex Cinemas.

A portion of the profits for the night will help fund a new Australian Christian movie being produced called Bella's Room.

When you come, don't make the mistake I did when seeing the movie, I didn't take enough tissues!

In the listening prayer times I host of a Wednesday morning, during our 20 minutes of silence, as we sit with a passage of scripture. We generally ask God questions about that passage of scripture. This has been fantastic, but lately I've sensed that God saying to go deeper. So we added another question, as I've been challenged more and more, which is that prayer should always lead to action.

The question is, what action Lord, do you want me to take as a result of this prayer time?

How many times do we come to God in prayer and tell him our list of requests and seek to twist his arm in some way to do those requests, without taking the time to listen to him as to what is on his heart and what action is he asking us to take.

For those in Brisbane, it's not too late to register for Battle Cry tomorrow night. At the moment, just over 1000 people are gathering to pray for our city.

I have the privilege of leading one of the sessions tomorrow night. If you are there it would be great to see you in person.
