𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭: Pentecost
Holy God,
On this Pentecost day,
we gather across this land and across the life of the Uniting Church, seeking again the movement of your Holy Spirit.
Breathe upon your Church once more.
Where there is weariness, bring renewal.
Where there is division, bring reconciliation.
Where there is fear, bring courage.
Where there is uncertainty, bring hope.
God of all peoples and all creation,
you continue to draw us together across cultures, languages, generations, and communities through the love of Christ.
As we begin these 30 days of prayer,
teach us to listen deeply —
to you,
to one another,
and to the voices we have too often overlooked.
We give thanks for the leadership and witness of the National Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress,
for the richness of our multicultural Church,
and for every community seeking to live faithfully in this time.
Renew us again as your people.
Weave us together in compassion.
Weave us together in justice.
Weave us together in truth and grace.
Weave us together in Christ’s love across cultures and boundaries.
And as your Spirit moved at Pentecost among many peoples and many languages,
may your Church today continue to bear witness to the good news of Jesus Christ with humility, courage, and joy.
We offer this season of prayer to you,
trusting that you are already at work among us.
In the name of Jesus Christ,
through the power of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
