This week we talked about rest and renewal, and asked ourselves a simple question: How full is your tank?
We can spend so much of our time pouring out into our families, work, church and the people around us that we don’t always notice when we’re starting to run on empty. Rest isn’t a luxury or something we need to earn once everything else is done. It’s part of how God designed us to live.
But what refreshes one person won’t necessarily refresh another. Going for a walk, reading a book, sitting quietly with God, getting outside, creating something, having an early night, or spending time with a friend — we need to learn what genuinely fills our own tank.
So here’s the challenge for this week: pick one thing you think might refresh you and make some space to try it.
And release yourself from the expectation that it has to work. If you come away thinking, “Well, that didn’t help at all,” that’s okay! Try something else.
Keep experimenting. Keep paying attention. Learn what drains you and what fills you.
You’re not looking for the “right” way to rest. You’re discovering the rhythms of rest and renewal that help you stay filled for the life God has called you to live.
