UnitingCare Copper Triangle will be hosting a special Volunteer Thank You service on Sunday 17th May at 9 am at Kadina Uniting Church. This service will be led by Jan Trengove from Clare.

National Volunteer Week 2026 in Australia runs from 18-24 May 2026, celebrating the theme "Your Year to Volunteer". This week honours the millions of Australians who volunteer, with 2026 also marking the UN International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026), highlighting the vital role volunteers play in building sustainable, inclusive communities.

Rev Peter Morel Moderator visited Kadina Uniting Church today for our service and was the Preacher. Peter then stayed to join in with our special morning tea and chat with our members.

Peter spoke briefly on his role as Moderator and mentioned that on 20th June 2027 Uniting Church in Australia will be celebrating 50 Years. Peter shared some ideas that being considered to celebrate 50 years.

Peter spoke about "preaching the gospel of Joy. That we might be seriously joyful, joyfully serious as we live in Christ." "Can we be beacons of joy? Can we truly reflect the presence of God in our prayers and our actions?

John 15:11 I want you to be completely happy, in the same way that I myself am happy. That is why I have told you these things."

Peter explained that "I have told you this, that my joy may be in you, that your joy may be complete, no matter where we go, no matter what is happening to us, no matter what our experiences, we have the capacity of carrying the very joy of Jesus Christ within us. Joy is a faithful act.

Moonta Mines Faith Community held a church service this morning where representatives from 7 different community organisations received a cheque to support the work of their group.

This is special time of the year for all , a time for giving, a time for service.

And a time for friends and family, celebrating the birth of Jeasus.

The members of Moonta Mines Faith community again this year have chosen to Make donations of their choice to special Groups who have shown community service.

There are seven receiving our support this year several have already received
their gifts and today we acknowledge all groups receiving cheques

*SA AMBULANCE MOONTA BRANCH

*The Ambulance in Moonta and the Royal Flying Doctor Service go hand in hand

*ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE

The ambulance and the RFDS join together many times to Save many lives.

*SEA RESCUE Are on call all hours to find missing at sea any time and take on the elements’.

*NYP BRANCH CANCER COUNCIL second year support for country people

MOONTA UC TUMMY FILLA FRIDAYS ​​
Last Sunday Moonta Mines Faith Community shared the service out at Cunliffe for Christmas and supported hamper food for MUC Tummy Filla Fridays,

UNITINGCARE COPPER TRIANGLE & Uniting Country SA - BAGSHAW HOUSE

Have a partnership agreement and have purchased the property known as
Bagshaw House in Kadina, to be used as short term accommodation. The donation will be used to assist with the purchase an air conditioner for a bedroom.

This property was a generous bequest from the estate of Nellie Bagshaw, and is in Kadina and was purchased in Kadina in conjunction with Uniting Country SA

Their story is quietly supporting many people,their endeavours are truly a lot of hard work.

Many people take time to support organisations without seeking rewards, just getting on with it.

Today it is our chance to in a way say a big thank you, we appreciated the work you do for all people, and sometimes our family members.
