The Iftar - An interfaith learning experience for all!
Members of the community, government, council, and faith organisations gathered for a spiritually uplifting event promoting dialogue and harmony.
This year's theme - “I, God, Am the Reward” highlighted the sacred Islamic narration in which Allah Almighty declares that any act of worship, like fasting in Ramadhan, is undertaken solely for His sake, and that He, Himself, is the reward.
Keynote speaker Mohammad Ata Rabbi Hadi, Central Murabbi-e-Silsila Jama’at Ahmadiyya Queensland, noted that in an era where thoughtful discourse is often lacking in the public sphere, initiatives of this nature are both timely and of considerable importance.
Guest speakers, Linus Power , Charis Mullen MP , Margaret Naylon from Queensland Faith Communities Council, Councillor Amanda Hay, Cr Kerri Cryer, Councillor Tony Hall and others, reflected in the theme, the event and the need for such meaningful occasions.
An interfaith panel with Dr Esben Strodle, Geshe Phunstok, and Dr Kate Power and Mohammad Atae Rabbi Hadi , provided an enriching opportunity for sincere discussion on often misunderstood topics, fostering a deeper understanding of different faith perspectives.
The event concluded with a delightful Aftaar dinner, Voices for Peace & Quran Exhibition, with the Grace of God!
Thank you to all attendees and speakers for making this event another meaningful event promoting interfaith peace and harmony.
God Bless you all!
